born2reign Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-interestinvick&prov=ap&type=lgns INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Two teams with unsettled quarterback situations—the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings—might be interested in acquiring suspended Atlanta Falcons star Michael Vick. Vick is in federal prison on felony charges related to dogfighting and is scheduled to be released in July. The Falcons have said they will try to trade him, though they could cut him and make him a free agent. I'm sure teams will talk about it and most will pass. Would you as an owner or GM or coach or fan want your team to try to sign Vick after he is released from prison?
cch5432 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I love how Golic said "Any team that gets him knows that animal activists will picket your team for a few weeks"

cooperstown Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 No. He wasn't all that good of a QB before his 3-year+ hiatus. Plus, I would think he'd be a huge distraction for any team that might take a chance on him.
TaylorMadeBoy Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 It depends on what team he would be going to. If it would be like a team life the Dolphins that run the "wildcat" offense I would agree only to that.
Clyde Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Only if he stole something from me. Otherwise, no.
PennStation's Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Not at all. He comes with too much baggage.
00Rocket28 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I say the Bengals pull the trigger on a deal and get him into camp as soon as he walks out the prison gates!
Jim Schue Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I say the Bengals pull the trigger on a deal and get him into camp as soon as he walks out the prison gates! Maybe show up in a cop car like Elwood does on "Blues Brothers."
STRIKE3 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Regardless of his transgressions and the distractions which surround him, some NFL team will take a chance. Vick is/was extremely athletic and not easy for defensives to prepare for. The NFL is a business and cares very little about perception.

The NFL is extremely concerned about its image.
mcpapa Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I might take a chance on him, but I wouldn't let him watch my dogs...
