The Scribe
It's not a matter of taking them. It's a matter of them wanting to participate. More and more refuse because it can affect your normal swing.
Milfordflash
I think they should take the 4 top in each league every year. Seeing Howard and Dunn out there would have been something else.... I thought they had to be on the allstar team to participate.

Original Rookie
I don't believe they have to be.... I think that you need a "special invite" to participate if you don't make the All-Star team.
Milfordflash
I don't believe they have to be.... I thought they said that on tv last night. All the participants are members of the allstar teams I just checked the paper.:thumb:
MJAlltheWay24
Usually the only time you get a special invite from what they were saying last night is if you were the previous year champion and you weren't named to the game. IT gives you a chance to defend your title.

The Scribe
Didn't they have an All World HR contest one year? I see to remember Hee Seop Choi representing Korea in the contest and the only way he gets into an All Star Game is with a ticket.

The Scribe
Don't you mean "Jason" Morneau? Justin Morneau received 70 text messages after winning Monday's All-Star Home Run Derby, he said, with many making reference to the trophy presentation, when the event's sponsor referred to him as "Jason." "It happens a lot," Morneau said Tuesday, with a smile and a shrug. "People call me Jason all the time." LINK
