My god, I can't imagine the riots that would ensue if beer were sold haphazardly throughout the NKYFL. I've seen enough sober - well, um, maybe? - riots in NKYFL contests in the last decade.

OK, wow, so that's both dangerous and foolish. The Tiger Bowl is an AMAZING events that any NKY football fan should check out, but anytime you involve sporting events/young kids/newer parents to competitive sports/football, emotions can be alarmingly high. Mixing that with alcohol....yikes.

 

I've seen some near riots down there...add alcohol on the sidelines and being sold right by the field. Horrible mix.

 

It was my first experience with the event, and it is really cool. The smaller field size is perfect for that age group. The entire setup is great. BYF does a great job with the event.

They really do! Awesome setting. Great games. The little guys REALLY love it. It's their super bowl essentially. I always tell everyone it's one of Northern Kentucky's Hidden Sports Gems that not a lot of folks know about.

It's the same up here. If the venue hosts adult events, then they're going to have alcohol.

I've been going to the wrong football games apparently

they sell beer at the bar upstairs during the Tiger Bowl, and i believe are told not to take it within the area of the outside action. its hard to police adults who sneak it in, and in no way those who run the Tiger Bowl would condone that. also you can not shut down the bar or frisk everyone who comes in. i have seen people escorted out with alcohol.

Yea they don't need beer for the fans of some teams.

Maybe it's just me but I have noticed an increase in tailgating at high school games by home and visiting fans in the last 5 years or so. I might have just not been paying attention but the fact that it has caught my attention would indicate otherwise. It just seems out of place to me. If you are sneaking it into the stadium--you have a problem. To answer the question, I don't think that there is much you can do outside of the stadium.

Its pretty common to see fans tailgating having good food and cool refreshments. The conversation and game talk is What its about. I've never seen anyone sneaking alcohol into a Highlands game, although it would be rather easy,

We were at a Elder/Highlands game at the "Pit" about 5-6 ago and I witnessed a Elder fan down a 12 pack throughout the game. When he was done with each Beer he would just chuck it over his Shoulder off the top of the Stands. I'm sure that neighbor was happy with Spring Cleanup.

 

With that many people it was very easy for that Fan to bring it in and consume it without any Worries! Like someone else said, can't you just hold off for 2 hrs of drinking a Beer?

Anyone ever watch basketball game at Turners ? Very classic old time club.

 

It's basically a cage match with the parents about 15 feet above the court hanging over the baselines.

 

6th grade girls league is Friday nights. Things can get very interesting - but my daughter used to love playing there.
