Kentucky lawmaker's Viagra bill would require wife's permission

And still not relevant to the point of my argument.

Obviously we are not on the same page and that is okay.

All I ask of anyone is to consider the larger issues of government spying on us and government telling us what we can and can't do.

Sure it does. One more obstacle.

But yet you want all the obstacles you can think of imposed on law abiding citizens.

It's not an obstacle. Hey, if it saves just one life, isn't that the battle cry you guys like so much?

Then what is the point of the legislation again?

You tell me since you seem to think it's something nefarious.

Throwing up roadblocks to contraception and the birth of unwanted (that's why there are abortions) children is fine. Erect a hurdle (see what I did there) between a middle-aged horndog and his boner medicine; and all hell breaks loose.

I understand that the former is a deeply-rooted religious issue for some. But the disconnect with the latter confounds me. What's good for the goose ain't so good for the gander.

No one is upset, they think it's stupid and simply grandstanding. It's vs waste of time and taxpayers money.

Unwanted children don't need to be butchered.

And I understand your point. However when it comes to infanticide, I don't see this as a slippery slope issue as far as Government intrusion on a wide scale basis.

How so?

I think it has a lot more to do with attempting to control and bully women than one might think.

Scalia said that the Philandering(my word, not his) Fathers never envisioned giving women the right to an abortion, so that settled it. We all know what kind of bigots, philanderers, and perverts Jefferson and the gang were. A decision on abortion was "absolutely easy," according to the bully Scalia, who obviously sided with the misogynistic framers of the Constitution. Just because the bigots of long ago felt women were undeserving of matters of choice concerning their own bodies, do will still have to be so narrow-minded today? Fortunately, most of us are not.

It's a sad day when wanting a woman to really make sure what she is doing and is committed to it when the doctor is going to end her baby's life is considered "bullying women". Since half of all babies aborted are female, I would say that half of all abortions are the ultimate bullying of women. The comparisons that posters have made in this thread are just mind numbing to me...

So lemme guess, you're not asking for your wife permission?

I think it's posturing and unnecessary. Didn't say it was nefarious. So, what is the point of the legislation?

Hmm, interesting concept you have there. So I take it that all those women out there that are against abortion are just bigots, narrow minded and a female version of philanderers?

I think Mary Lou will get some "stiff" competition against this bill. Seems she's pretty "hard up" to even float this thing out there. At it's "climax", it won't amount to anything and the bill will "limp" away and be forgotten about.

Love it.... But seriously, how "long" did it take for you to "come" up with that?

I think myself and a few others explained what the point of the legislation was. Abortion is a very serious and hard decision for a woman, it can have a devastating affect on her life. I think every step to be taken to be sure the woman is educated on exactly what she is about to do should be taken. We're talking about ending a life here, it's an absolute, no doubt ending and it's brutal. A woman should be educated exactly about what she's about to do.
