Kentucky lawmaker's Viagra bill would require wife's permission

I bet you wouldn't feel the same way if we had a newly elected Democratic Governor signing a bill into law making it mandatory that any new gun purchases required the new gun owner to receive counsel from a mental health professional 24 hours before being able to take possession of the new firearm.

Bet you wouldn't be saying "You go" to said Democratic Governor either if that were the case. Apples to oranges and you know that. The bill Bevin signed has nothing to do with a mental health professional, it requires that doctors perform an ultrasound and describe the image to women who are seeking an abortion, but you knew that already. So why make such a poor analogy?

Bevin's anti-abortion law places one more government restriction on a woman's personal liberty.

My point to RTS is if the "other side" created a new anti-gun law that placed one more government restriction on his second amendment right to bear arms he may look at it different.

It's not a restriction, she can still get an abortion.

It would depend on the law, but "the other side" has a track record for useless, do nothing, knee-jerk reaction, fell good, stupid legislation when it comes to guns. But you already knew that, as well.

You call it whatever you want, it is another law telling us what we (women in this case) will and will not do.

No, it's not. Where are you getting this information? I'd like to read it.

It may be obvious to a moron.

The law is telling women in KY they legally can't have an abortion unless they meet face to face or by video with a physician at least 24 hours before the abortion.

This law is about giving a pregnant women all the opportunities she can have to make the decision. This isn't about loping off a skin tag, it's a huge decision about ending a life and can have lasting impact.

With all the issues facing our state, this is what our legislators spend time doing?

I expect better out of both sides. Stupid for the governor to be wasting time on this obvious attention grabbing political stunt and even more stupid for the lawmaker to be wasting resources and time, in the name of the People of the Commonwealth.

If Bevin had an coconuts he would have pointed that out...and if the lawmaker had any sense she would keep her Vag to herself....ain't nobody wants to deal with that

It may be obvious to a moron.

Struck a nerve. Name calling now.

The fact is your analogy was incorrect , the law doesn't stop anyone from doing the procedure.

But if name calling and being wrong is your cup of tea please continue.

The law is clearly intended to make it more difficult to terminate a pregnancy. Let's call it what it is, rather than use the subterfuge of "opportunity".

Why not legislation that may make it more difficult to initiate a pregnancy? Another momentous decision. And yes, I understand that not everyone uses ED Rx for the sole purpose of achieving pregnancy.

I think it's amusing that so many old guys have their proverbial shorts in a wad.

I think Mary Lou will get some "stiff" competition against this bill. Seems she's pretty "hard up" to even float this thing out there. At it's "climax", it won't amount to anything and the bill will "limp" away and be forgotten about.

Sucks to have someone tell you what you can and cannot do with your body, doesn't it?

Not really telling me anything I can or cannot do....besides, I get mine OTC at the local truck stop anyway.

She's a tool bag with an obvious first 90 day agenda....way to waste the taxpayers time and money. I bet she couldn't pick a Viagra tab from a Lortab and wouldn't know what to do with one if she ever held one.

You are absolutely right RTS. I would be disappointed in the Democratic Governor just like I am in Bevin.

However, I would be saying "You go" to the Republican Lawmaker introducing House Bill 223 that would require new gun purchase applicants to get written permission from the NRA (forcing you to join the NRA) to make the purchase. Additionally, HB223 would require you to visit a second gun shop/dealer to discuss the best gun for your shooting application. You would have to tell that gun dealer and the NRA what you intend to use this gun for. You still would be allowed to purchase the gun from a dealer of your choice but only after getting written permission from the NRA and meeting with a second gun dealer at least 24 hours before making the purchase.

HB223 would not be a restriction or any infringement on your right to bear to arms in KY but rather an opportunity for you to benefit from the NRA's benevolence and an opportunity for you to consider more than one gun dealer/gun for your stated reason of purchase.

Cute. I do not believe you for a second. Again, you're comparing apples with oranges and again, you already know that.
