Ranking The Districts By Region

Featured Replies

I saw a thread about the toughest district in the 11th region and it got me to thinking. So I figured what the heck, I'll start a thread on here and get everyone else opinion on the topic. To be honest I don't know anything about the teams south of Nicholas Co. So with that said I will try to rank the ones I know a little about and encourage everyone else to do the same. This is totally opinion so if I get it wrong please don't send the Calvery after me. :scared:

This thread really isn't about the best region it's more about how difficult their respective districts are to get through to get to the region. IMO to be considered the best in your region you first have to get there. That's step 1. Honestly there are regions I know nothing about but that's ok because there are ppl from those regions that do and I think this will help everyone get a feel for who are the better teams in their respective regions and who to look for at tournament time.

Here is what I think about the regions I know a little about.

Region 8

1. 29

2. 32

3. 30

4. 31

Region 9

1. 35

2. 36

3. 33

4. 34

Region 10

1. 37

2. 40

3. 39

4. 38

Region 16

1. 61

2. 63

3. 62

4. 64

While this is what I think, I could be way off on a few of these. Feel free to correct me. Like I said earlier this is not a knock on any team, it's more of how hard the road is to get to the regionals. Anyone is prone to the upset, and that would change everything. This is just looking at each district with the favorite advancing. Not to mention I thought it would be fun to get everyone's opinion. :thumb:

The Seventh is pretty evenly distributed as far as where the good teams play, but here's how I see it:

1. 28th: Ballard, Eastern, Christian Academy, Kentucky Country Day, Walden

2. 27th: Trinity, Waggener, Seneca, Atherton

3. 26th: St. Xavier, Male, Collegiate, Brown

4: 25th: DuPont Manual, Central, St. Francis, Shawnee

In the 16th the 61st has the two of the top teams but the other 2 teams are 2 of the weakest. The 63rd Lewis is a top tier team but the other three are in the bottom half of the region. The 64th Ashland and Boyd are top tier in the region but the other two are two of the weakest. The 62nd is probably over all the most equal there is a good chance all four teams could finish at 3-3 and have to blind draw the district just like the old days.

16th Ranking (IMO)

1. 61st

2. 62nd

3. 64th

4. 63rd

In the ninth, (if its about difficulty getting to the region) I would say...

1. 33rd. - Pick 2 of the four (Ryle, Cooper, Conner, and Boone).

2. 36th - NCC will win, the other spot will be the HHS/Newport winner.

in the 34th and 35th it would be HUGE upset if DH / ST H and CCH / Holmes did not represent.

One glaring omission........Holmes.

One glaring omission........Holmes.

I was just about to say the same thing. Either way, the 9th is made up arguably 3 of the top 10 teams in the state. Tough regiion.

Don't forget Holmes in Region 9 35th!!!

In region 9, I say the 33rd is the toughest overall. Four solid teams in that district.

Plain Russell

Once again. My bad got in a grove of placing "Co" behind the counties.

8th Region

1. 29

2. 30

3. 31

4. 32

I would argue that the 31st has been stronger than the 32nd for the last several years. Besides Simon Kenton, who has made any noise out of that district since Simon moved to the 8th? The 31st has sent teams to the 8th Region Semis consistently over the last 5 years. This year, SK is the only team in that district with the potential to make a run in the region.
