Little Ricky took the job at New Mexico the day after the Minnesota parting. UAB extended Andy Kennedy today. Is that just a coincidence? I’d like to see Archie Miller. His play and recruiting style would fit Cincinnati much better than it fit IU.

Is it that hard for Ashland fans to say that they lost to a better team? It happens. Can we be real and say they only made it this far because they got a “best case scenario” draw in the bracket. Good run this year. Be proud. They’ll win the 16th again next year.

Ballard is always loaded with talent. This year is no different. If you want to slow it down, Bar will make you pay. Hayden is great. But I’ll take Gabe Sisk over any player in the state, in that class.

This will be Bullitt East’s 4th trip to the sweet 16. 3rd as the 6th region champions. Jason Couch is no stranger to Rupp.

I’ve heard several names already for this one. Depending on who, it could really get the Louisville dominoes falling. Also heard they’re going the prep school route. But as with anything Brandon Bender is involved with, it could change daily.

They’re just getting started too. A lot of talented young guys on that squad.

Coach Britt has done a great job there. Western has always had the dudes. Just needed the right coach. And Coach Schooler’s lack of coaching at Fern Creek might have finally worn itself out. You can have all the talent in the world. But if you don’t guide it, or know how, it turns on you.

I really do feel bad for Conley and Whitlock. Great kids. Nice players. They got unreasonable expectations put on them by a lot of adults. There wasn’t really a supporting cast around them, ever. Yes, losing Mabry hurt too. But it’s not like they ever went further with him. A lack of depth caused them to wear down towards the end of every season. And realistically, Gaither and Collins have pretty much owned them.

Yeah. He’s huge. And he has a lot of skill.

The game was apparently rewatched twice with stats recorded, and he had “only” 31 rebounds. Which obviously is still a massive feat. Wireman had posted the story.

So is Ben Johnson... and I’d say right now, it’s probably his to lose. But there are legitimately 4-5 dudes that can win. I still really hate that they give it out before the Sweet 16.

I think you missed my point. I don’t care where anyone lives or where they want to go to school. I was just asking why he was ruled ineligible in WV. Just general curiosity. They have a group of people there that bring guys into the country every year.

The pictures I’ve seen of him next to the teams they’re playing are hilarious. He is huge. He had to move to Belfry because he was ineligible in West Virginia. Anyone know why? West Virginia has a ton of African kids, so it’s not like they didn’t know what documentation was needed.

It really is crazy to see that. This has to be an anomaly of a year for them. They’ve at least been middle of the pack for awhile. But anyone from the Louisville area understands what changed. Certain housing developments were torn down. Also, in the 90s, they had “magnet programs”. Now it’s wide open enrollment. Kids just aren’t pulled to Fairdale anymore. And the older guys just lean on the 90s glory instead of trying to change the perceptions.

Bad weekend for a North Laurel team that only had one “quality” win (Cov Cath) coming into the weekend. So was Cov Cath the anomaly? Or have they now been figured out? Shepherd will get his. But if he has a bad game, who steps up?

Ashland was just way too balanced for N Laurel. Good game plan. Let Shepherd do what he wants, guard everyone else. He had 10 turnovers to 5 assists.

I predict gaudy stats from a couple of 2-3 zone titans....

Just for fun, I thought I’d look at the stats on KHSAA for this game. Ashland attempted 28 3s. Cov Cath attempted 8. That could have a lot to do with the difference in free throw attempts. Not saying the refs weren’t a little whistle happy towards Ashland. But when one team takes the majority of their shots from the outside, and the other the inside. Inside draws more fouls.

Yep. Back in the comfortable confines of the 16th....

Not saying he does, or doesn’t have 2 D1 offers. But there’s nothing on Verbal Commits for him. And there’s nothing for him under either of those schools where the recruits are listed by class. He’s only a freshman, there’s plenty of time.
