North Laurel/Ashland Predictions/Updates

[The Professor]

Undefeated North Laurel, 19-0, play Ashland Blazer at Lexington Catholic Friday. The Jaguars have sensational sophomore Reed Sheppard and a great supporting cast that includes his cousin sophomore Ryan Davidson. Ashland has junior Cole Villers and sophomore Colin Porter  and are 12-4 having played one of the most demanding schedules in the state. 

It should be an interesting game on a neutral  court.

Tough two game stretch for North Laurel this weekend. Ashland on Friday and Lexington Catholic on Saturday. Should be a great day for basketball at Lexington Catholic.

Ashland is top team in the 16th but unlike last years team could easily lose to Rowan and possibly Boyd Co. this season. I look for the Tomcats to lose both games by double digits this weekend. I hope I'm proven wrong but not looking for that to happen.

I didn’t realize how much Bradley and Hudson would be missed this year. Last year they started 5 guards who all could make 3’s. I think the least amount of 3’s made by the 5 starters was 48. Those 2 brought a lot to the lineup. Freshman Carter has really made big strides this year but he’s still very young. And Marcum has size but doesn’t always utilize it. 
This weekend is going to be very tough for the Tomcats, I agree.

Not sure if Prepspin will broadcasting the Ashland/North Laurel game, but they'll likely broadcast the North Lauren/LexCath game. 

BTW LexCath just lost their first game of the season tonight to Dunbar 65-57 so as of now North Laurel is the only undefeated team in the state.

Here's the actual link to the North Laurel/Ashland game where the broadcast is scheduled to begin at 8:20. 

I do not know if this will be free, or if they will charge anything.

The KHSAA Scoreboard has the game scheduled at 8:00 so it would be a good idea to check early to be on the safe side.

North Laurel with an extremely laissez-faire attitude towards defense. Ashland up 46-27 at halftime. Sellars has hit six threes for the Tomcats.
