  1. I'm still waiting to see the physical play. I didn't see it in any of the videos.
  2. I agree that it is an upset. However, playing a district game, a rival and turning around playing the next night does not surprise me. It happened when Muhlenberg played and beat Apollo, and turned around the next night and lost to Hancock. I still believe the 3rd Region final will be a 9th district showdown.
  3. Heard things got heated in this game couple of "T" called. Anyone have anything?
  4. After watching this game, Eli played very well as did Aric. Couple of fouls on Miller were questionable as were a couple on Coomes. Apollo has a 6'4" wing man, they do not need a 6'8" wing. Trace has got to learn to play inside, which it appears is not going to happen. Hard for me to believe that Apollo has struggled as much as they have this year. That being said, Apollo has the same problem that OHS has, the need for a true point guard who can run the office and possibly score 6-8 points a game. While Apollo has the size with Trace to match up, I think Daviess County poses the biggest threat to OHS. However, it appears OHS region to lose.
  5. How would you seed a state tourney? Very few common opponents. And for God's sake don't use the Cantrall's rating system. Blind draw, it's what makes the Sweet 16 so "SWEET"!
  6. Without question it is the 9th District. Apollo, Daviess County, Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic are 4 of the best teams in the region, year in and year and and two of them watch the Regional Tournament just like I do, in the stands.
  7. I respectfully disagree with Clyde. 14-15 Case book Rule 9.1 Comment Players who do not occupy a marked lane space may not have either foot break the vertical plane of the free-throw-line extended and the vertical plane of the three-point line until the ball touches the ring or the backboard, or the free throw ends. It is a poor job of the officials to keep the team at their bench, but if they are walking off and step onto the court by my understanding of the rule it is a violation.
  8. I disagree with both of you. OHS may lose to Trinity, but they will beat Henderson 4-1 last 5 games. To much size inside for Henderson to handle. Miller to big and to strong. Holman is a nightmare for Henderson. As for the 10 Ten, I agree with the top 2, but Apollo is 3 Catholic, now that O'Bryan is back is 4. Then the rest of the region. Here's the shame of it all. 4 of the best teams in the region are in the 9th district and 2 of them will watch the regional from the same place I will, in the stands. In all likelihood it will be a 9th district final in the regional final as well.
  9. The Muhlenberg turns around the next night and loses to Hancock. Now figure it out.
  10. Hancock plays Thursday at 10:30 against Newport Catholic Central.
  11. Just don't think Manual plays as poorly this time around as they did in the OIT.
  12. I have two girls, that both play on the high school team. My youngest has health issues that require Gatorade/Powerade. Her coach knows of these issues, and I put the Gatorade on the bench during warm ups with her initials on the lid. Place another one there at half-time while they are in the locker room. Guess I'm a terrible parent for taking care of my child.
  13. I would say yes. But now that you mentioned it, I can see that too.
  14. Met Bolden when they played at Muhlenberg earlier this month. Great kid, and glad he's going to be a Mountaineer!
  15. Daviess had no shot at winning this game after beating Henderson in the OIT.
  16. ApolloFan98 - I agree for the most part with everything that you have said with regards to the Red Devils. I think they are a point guard away from being scary good. They do have a effort issue, sometimes a couple of kids do take plays off. But for the most part their length creates a ton of problems for most high school teams. Holman inside what shots he doesn't block the rest of them he alters. There are only 2 schools in the 3rd region I think can beat them, and they are both in the 9th and only one will be going to the region.
  17. Come on man!!! Does anyone put any stock in the Cantrall ratings? I can tell in you in WKY we don't put any stock in it.
  18. Henderson is the real deal. I don't think they can beat E-town, but can give them all they want. Proud of our girls from DC played hard, we are not quite there yet.
  19. While Miller is a nice player, no way he is the MVP in the region. Miller comes out of the game, O'boro can still score, rebound with the players they have on the floor. The Griffith kid at Daviess IMO is the MVP, take him away from Daviess and they are just another team, this kid is the straw that stirs the Daviess County drink.
  20. It sounded like from the local newspaper today, that Trace will see the floor Friday night against Catholic.
  21. In the 3rd Region. Tough but I will go with any of these 3. Eli Wright at Apollo, Marshall Griffith at Daviess or Aric Holman at O'boro.
  22. Advantage/Disadvantage Sorry but I don't see any thing there that says anyone gained an advantage and no one was placed at a disadvantage.
