  1. So sad, Austin was a great guy, certainly be in prayer for his family, the team and all of John Hardin school. Today we are all bulldogs!
  2. IF (and that's a big if) I was the AD at Pulaski, aka Brian Miller, my first call would be to my alma mater and see if Stonebreaker has any interest in leaving Adair to come to PC. It's not about padding your schedule it's about winning at a higher level. PC has the resources, MS program and the elementary school program as well. Just my $.02.
  3. It might be tough, but another added advantage would be the early signing period for High School players. But there are only two schools that the NC game affects the other players could enroll at whatever school they want to transfer to.
  4. As I have watched the bowl season thus far, it has been abysmal to watch these teams play in bowl games with the stands empty. Kids worked hard for that opportunity, but how do we re-energize the bowl games especially when next year we head into a 12 team playoff. I think there are a couple of things the NCAA needs to do to save it. 1. The transfer portal does not open until after the National Championship game. That way you will have no player opting out because of being in the portal. 2. It needs to be in every player's NIL contract. If you take money to play from said University, you MUST, play in the bowl game, unless you are physically unable to. These kids are being paid to play for their school, why give them money and then they opt out of a game in which the University is making money for them to play in. Just my thoughts, but if something doesn't change it will only be the Playoff teams in the post season. Thoughts?
  5. Why would Kirby even remotely consider this? He now is the King of college football, taking the crown from his mentor Nick Saban. Not a chance he leaves Athens for Atlanta.
  6. If I had known you were at the Hart County/Spencer County game at Nelson County, I would have tried to meet you as I was at that game as well.
  7. Seen Boyle play this weekend at Green County against Larue, and to be honest I was not that impressed. Larue who lost a district game for the first time in about a decade, but is 0-2 thus far this year, put a beat down on Boyle.
  8. This award use to mean something, I haven't watched the presentation show since Peyton was not awarded the trophy. I think it should be renamed to the "Who does ESPN think is the Heisman Award winner" trophy.
  9. I've watched this a few times because I'm not certain how I feel. First, let me say, parents are a real problem. They create a lot of issues, for coaches, principals, teachers, officials alike, because we all know little Johnnie and little Susie would never act that way, or they are the next superstar at such and such a school. In today's world, we have a lot of "key board cowards", who feel like with social media they have no accountability for what they say, consequently, kids today have very like accountability as well. If my kid doesn't get the ball thrown to him 50-75% of the time or run the ball 50-75% of the time or shoot the ball 25 times a game or whatever the sport, we will go transfer elsewhere. WE all know those types of parents. So when do you address it? Was this the right platform to address it? I don't know, but I have a funny feeling Johnny did what about 90% of all coaches would like to have an opportunity to say.
  10. What about Jake Johnson from Pulaski all time receiving catches and yards.
  11. I can remember growing up the Orange Bowl on New Year's Night, and listening to the likes of Curt Gowdy, Jim Simpson, Dick Enberg, Don Criqui, and Color guys like, John Brodie, Merlin Olson, Bob Trumphy, Bob Griese, and Bill Walsh, or watching the Sugar Bowl and listening to guys like, Charlie Jones, Chris Schenkel, Keith Jackson, and Color guys like Jim Lampley, Frank Broyles, Ara Parseghian, Bud Wilkerson, and the great Howard Cosell. Guess you can say, I've shown my age, and how much I really miss the bowl tie ins and just the good ole days of College Football. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread.
  12. Back to my original question, it was the ACC that was joined by the PAC 12 and the Big 10 that eliminated the 12 team playoff this year.
  13. Can't leave Bama out after they beat Georgia.
  14. That's not an answer, you have to leave 1 out, who? You can't spin a roulette wheel here, because that's what the committee has been accused of doing.
  15. DragonFire, I have a lot of respect for you, but I will address the bold. Of the Power 5 Conferences top to bottom, where would you place the ACC? 2nd I hate that all of this for FSU is being laid at the feet of a QB who got hurt. No doubt that Travis is a great QB, but to say it's all because of him, I can't even begin to understand the level of guilt that kid is under today.
  16. If you put Georgia in who do you leave out?
  17. I think here is a point that everyone is missing as well. Maybe you do, maybe you don't recall, but this year was supposed to be the year of the 12 team playoff. Maybe you do, maybe you don't recall, which conference was the loudest about pushing it back to next year? Here are two things, I honestly think would have helped the committee, if they had done this. First, last week when FSU struggled to beat Florida, they should have dropped them to 5 then. Then this week they could have dropped them to 6 and dropped Georgia to 5. But they didn't. I think another thing I would recommend if I was on the committee, is that all of our votes are transparent. That is, we know how everyone on that committee voted, it would give us all an idea of just how hard a decision it was for them. I'm not an SEC guy, I'm actually a Big XII guy, but come on every year, year in and year out, the SEC is the best conference in College Football. This year the PAC 12 stepped up, the Big 10 is always good, just a step behind the SEC and then you have the Big XII and ACC barely above the Power 5 Conferences. I've read the talk of Bama barely beating Auburn, but may I remind you that Georgia, had to have a late 4th quarter TD to beat this as well back in week 5. I feel bad for FSU, their coach, team, fans, etc. But at the end of the day, I hate that their QB went down, but does Jordan actually think they would have gone 13-0 if he went down, let's say in game 5? I don't think so, one thing is for sure they were not near as good of a team offensively without him as they were with him. The end of the day, I think the committee got it right, but man they should have brought a lot of criticism to themselves, simply by not being as transparent as I think they should or could have been.
  18. Do you know of any other states that used video replay in the Championship games? I know in West Virginia they did, and it proved to play out well as a touchdown catch late in the 2A Championship game between Fairmont Sr and North Marion, they reviewed a non catch for a TD and it was overturned for a Touchdown, then the 2 point conversation for the win was confirmed that it was no good and Fairmont Sr won 49-48.
  19. Well first, I'm going to ask you to take off your Scarlet FSU glasses, so we can have a good debate. First, that was a rivalry game, just like Georgia was with Tech, and let's be honest Georgia did not look great against Tech. Remember Georgia struggled with Auburn as well during the regular season. Georgia has won something like 30 straight games, IF (and that's a big if) Bama beats them, let's say on a last second FG, then the 4 teams I'm putting in are Michigan at 1 Oregon at 2, Georgia at 3 and assuming Texas wins at 4. Now that scenario will depend on FSU struggling with Louisville or just right out losing. If Bama beats Georgia going away (which I do not think will happen, but stranger things has happened) Bama would get the 4th spot and yes, they would jump OSU and Texas. Simply because they beat a team that has not lost in 2+ years. I understand you are an FSU fan, are they deserving if they beat Louisville, yes, but I think you will have to confess they are not the same team without their QB, thus in my opinion not one of the 4 best. I go back to Bama lost in September, I honestly believe if those two team played now, Bama wins by 2 TD's. As for OSU, it took a last second TD to beat an average ND team, they did beat a decent PSU team, but lost to Michigan in a game that never seemed to be any question on who the best team was.
  20. It all depends on if the committee truly wants the 4 best teams or the 4 most deserving teams.
  21. Just seen on CBSsports.com where D. J. Uiagalelei from Oregon State has entered the portal for the 2nd time, although he still can enter the draft as well.
  22. Here's the burning question, do we put in the 4 best teams or the 4 most deserving teams? If we want the 4 best teams to me it's: Georgia (win or lose against Bama) Michigan (Yes the cheater deserves to be in) Oregon/Washington winner The 4th spot is where I struggle, but I've decided on this: If Bama beats Georgia they get the 4th spot. If Bama loses to Georgia and Texas beats Ok State, they get the 4th spot. If Bama, Texas loses Oregon loses to Washington again, then I put Ohio State in. Florida State without their QB is not even in the consideration for a top 4 spot. Now with him different story. 4 most deserving teams: Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, FSU.
  23. He is a man-child. He will possibly be the best player on the field, I don't know if BG has anyone who can match his speed or strength.
