  1. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we are having to play 1A on Thursday night and 2 games late Saturday Night and 3 games on Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday.
  2. Guys I'm talking about when they first left Louisville and moved to BG. The reason was Louisville at this time was in the Big East before all the realignment took place. Louisville (in the Big East, not the ACC) was having to play a game the first weekend of December, so Papa John's would not be available and BG won the initial bid to take the State Championship games. Now that WKU in the C-USA can host a championship game unlike 4 of the power 5 conference who play their Championship game at a neutral site, it maybe time to move back to Papa John's or as some has suggested move to Commonwealth. Therefore, your 1A game will get the same respect the other classes are suppose to be getting as has been stated on here. While I don't agree with this theory, it is what it is.
  3. Out bid because Papa John's couldn't guarantee the availability of the stadium on the first Saturday of December.
  4. If I remember correctly this was one reason the State Championship games were moved from Papa John in Louisville to Bowling Green, because U of L could not guarantee the KHSAA would have access to the field for Friday and Saturday of the first weekend in December, this was when U of L was in the Big East. Now because of WKU season and hosting a championship game we are faced with a schedule dilemma. We could very easy move it back to Papa John with U of L being in the ACC as U of L will never host a Championship Game since the ACC plays their championship game in Charlotte. This way we will never have to face this possibility again. I attend the Championship games on the weekend and look forward to 3 games on Friday and 3 on Saturday. Now, I will not be attending the 1A game on Thursday, and I highly doubt I will stay till 10-11 on Sunday to watch the 4A game. I knew I should have been rooting for Marshall the day after Thanksgiving.
  5. I'll be at Rash Stadium watching the Devil's and the Purples, hoping for a great game.
  6. Devils58, I kindly disagree that the winner of the OHS/BG games wins state. I think they have a shot, but I'm telling your Pulaski County is on a mission. As defending State Champs they have been getting snubbed all year, and those kids if they stay healthy for 2 more weeks will be in BG to play whomever comes out of the west and those Maroons will be ready!
  7. Has #24 for OCHS been reinstated after he was ejected Friday night? I also noticed on the KHSAA website he is listed as #31, weird.
  8. This is going to be a great game, and I plan on being there. While I'm not really a fan of either team, I want to see a good high school football game. I've seen BG up close and personal this year, and while they are not as talented as the BG teams of a few years back, they are still a very talented football team. While the first game between these two teams was close, you can forget that game. Both coaches staff's will make adjustments and give different looks and scheme's they the other team will not be expecting. That being said, halftime will require further adjustments and knowing the BG staff I have to give them the edge there. It's an old cliché` but the truth of the matter is this, they team that wins will play well in all 3 phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams. The winner will also not commit dumb penalties, and will not turn the ball over. My wish is for this to be a clean game, (no dumb penalties, or turnovers) and no one to get hurt. This being said, something tells me that it's time for the devils to find a way to win after all the losses to BG, but my head tells me BG is just a little better. Which means I'm going with my head and not my heart. BG 28 Owensboro 27 PS. This game is not for the State Championship regardless of what all the Purples and Devil's fans may say. There is a team that is still alive in the east, that has had a running clock in all of their games but the only loss to Scott County, and in all likelihood will have a running clock tonight. Don't sleep on the Maroon's of Pulaski County! BG, Owensboro or Fern Creek, will have to play their "A" game to beat the Maroons.
  9. From the sound of things Pulaski looks to be on a mission and taking prisoners along the way.
  10. Total domination by the Aces, the final score does not tell the true story. OCHS fumbled deep in Murray territory and had an interception in the end zone in the 1st half could have and should have been a lot worse. Murray gets a garbage score late.
  11. The road for North will come to a sudden stop next week in Pulaski County.
  12. E-town has beat everyone on their schedule this year, including the Blue Tornado's. Next up.
  13. Football is an emotion sport, and I get that. #1 . Is definitely a Unsporting act. #2 can be a taunting act, if he is close to the player he tackled, this one can be prevented by officials getting to the pile quickly. #3 , Does sound like much to me, but as my coach told me when you score, act like you've done it before. #4 . Doesn't sound like much except to excite fans. Again, can be prevented by officials getting to the pile quickly.
  14. Owensboro had a tremendous amount of trouble with Daviess County, OHS was trailing until Daviess lost 2 of their playmakers one of them being their Wideout Stratton.
  15. The receiver must maintain possession of the catch to the ground, without the ground assisting him in maintaining possession.
  16. Be glad to. 3-a Mr. Elder Smith will have to compete with Belfry and if Central in the east will be another tough out. Depending on where this game is played Belfry Boyle will be worth the price of admission. For the younger Smith he should have a relative easy time getting up Nashville Road to WKU stadium to face Johnson Central. Just my thinking.
  17. Franklin-Simpson only has one play clock at one end, therefore, you can not use it sense the play clock in not on the other end.
  18. OCHS looked very average at best, the good thing is they have a long season ahead of them and they will bounce back. They need to find a running game without it, rush 3 drop 8 and see what happens. For DC, great win and one the program has needed.
  19. Apollo went from the clear Region favorite to, will they make the region tourney.
  20. I think Catholic steam rolls through the regular season, and the first round of the playoffs, and then........... Same song second verse, oughta get better, but it's gonna get worse, Same song third verse, oughta get better, but it's gonna get worse. Same song fourth verse, you know the rest. Murray or Mayfield will send them home for the season.
  21. The best I've played against was Curt Warner, RB Pineville, WV went on to star at Penn St and was the first round draft pick of the Seattle Seahawks. The best I've seen on the field play the game, without question from Rand University and Dupont High School, Mr. Randy Moss. No one, and I mean no one comes close in High School.
  22. O Cath rated way to high. They will have a good record only to exit in the second round of the playoffs. They play in the weakest 2-A district in the state. Zuberer will be worth the price of admission
