The 13-1 Ole Miss Rebels advance to the CFP semifinals with awesome game upsetting Georgia 39-34. The 12-2 Miami Hurricanes advanced to the semis by knocking off #2 seed Ohio State in their quarterfinal game 24-14. This should be a good game and am looking forward to this one! The game is the Verbo Fiesta Bowl. It will be on Thursday January 8th on ESPN at 7:30pm.

Just read on ESPN that Kiffin may allow only Charlie Weiss to coach the Rebels this week.  Stated there is a plan in place and everyone understands.  Only Weiss got on the team’s return plane.  Transfer portal open this week.

Man that would be crappy, to only be available for 2 of potentially 4 games.

The Kiffin hate is going to get heavy if this happens. I can see rule changes happening in college because of this situation. 

The change that seems easy to make is the portal doesn't open until the playoffs are finished, but then there are enrollment rules that probably impact that.

They should have happened before. 

This will be the better game of the two in my opinion. Tough one to pick, but I think Miami advances.

I do believe Kiffin is that big of a mean person to make him leave the team. I also thinks it’s petty. What does the having an assistant sitting around for 3 more weeks do for LSU in the future?

Recruiting. My guess is Kiffin wants his coaches to help evaluate and recruit the portal and I believe the portal opens Monday.

Here is an easy fix. A coach who leaves for another school is not allowed to pull any coaches from his previous school till his previous team's season is finished, including the playoffs.

I think Miami's defense is too much for Ole Miss.

I agree and believe that their defense is what made them look like a top team earlier in the season before they skidded some. They definitely look more like earlier season form now, which in turn is better with them being in the position that they are now.

Ole Miss has had a great run, but Miami wins this. Close game 28-24 Canes.
