I'm not saying they won't win, but I'm not sure they will win it either. I really like GC the way they are playing now and Mardis has not done much for the last couple of weeks. If he gets going, Logsdon, Mardis, Armstrong, Gaither they are a tough match-up for just about everyone in the 3rd.

Yes, DC is headed in the wrong direction, and I think GC is headed upward. Now, all that being said, I think the 2-week layoff due to the ice/snow, had hurt teams, more than others and I think DC is a team it has really hurt the most. GC went and scheduled Warren Central, and Male (although that game did not get played) to prepare for tournament time.

Watching the game tonight, it was clear that Grayson is the better team, TONIGHT!, Allow me to remind you last year, Grayson won during the regular season, matchup, but lost in the regional championship game. Remember, in a one and done tournament, anything can happen.

With Grayson County defeating Daviess County does that now make Grayson the favorite? Of course, that is what happened last year as well with DC losing regular season, and GC losing in the regional final.

Etown, absolutely they were very young last year, Bardstown, should be about the same if not better.

I love the idea, it moves us away from District play and everyone including Cloverport (which I'm not sure has ever made a regional tournament) will play in it. It would also give the Region and opportunity to show KHSAA how flawed or perfect their RPI ratings are. In the 3rd this year if it was a super region this would be the matchups. Higher seed hosting the first round and after that it would move to the Sportscenter because that's how the 3rd region does with the 8 teams. Daviess would have a bye and would move on to the Sportscenter Daviess would play the winner of the 8/9 match up between Muhlenberg County vs McLean County 5/12 match up would be Apollo vs Hancock 4/13 match up would be Edmonson County vs Owensboro That would be the top half of the bracket Bottom half would have 6/11 Meade County vs Breckenridge County 3/14 would have Grayson County vs Butler County 7/10 would be Owensboro Catholic vs Trinity. 2/15 would have Ohio County vs Cloverport. That would be a heck of a super region! But that's my $.02 worth.

This maybe the best assessment I have read on the region, and I think you are spot on. As for LaRue, I'm not sure they can do it 3 nights in a row against the top talent in the region.

They played really well against Southwestern the other night and shot the ball extremely well. I like this team and Breeze, has been there, done that, and has the trophy to prove it! Back-to-Back as well.

I wouldn't. I don't think Larue can beat North, Taylor or Caverna, maybe Adair, but that's it.

So that is what the Sweet 16 has become "decent games", when I recall "great games" and "great teams"! Which I'm afraid we no longer have on a regular basis.

Ok, when the weekend comes, and we should have our best teams playing on Friday, and Saturday, you have eliminated one from the 7th or 9th, 11th or 12th and have a less than desirable semi or final on Saturday night. I remember when Rupp was packed to the rafters, now the top section is not even open. Most folks work during the week and come up on the weekend, but if I'm not seeing the best teams why spend the money to come watch a blow out?

If, the Powers That Be (KHSAA) believe so strongly in the RPI, why do we not seed this tournament and make it better for the fans. Could it be that is the reason the attendance has down been because the Championship game gets played well before Saturday night?

No, I don't know if he will repeat, I'm just wondering if he can sustain it like he has the first two years. His eye to evaluate talent has been 2nd to none.
