I'm shocked. Does Mercer have the feeder system PC has? Can you win a State Championship at Mercer? If you are chasing the almighty $$ then you go, but if you're chasing a Ring, not sure you get it down at Mercer. Of course, Coach Travis has several of those from BC.

Wow this is a shock to me as someone from Pulaski, knowing the talent they are returning, and the feeder system they have. I don't think that Mercer has anywhere near the talent or feeder system to compete for a State Championship like you do at Pulaski. Just my $.02. Totally shocked.

I'm a lifelong Steeler fan, while I do not love this, I'm in hopes that they would have given Will Howard a shot to see what he can do. Maybe a year to again learn from one of the best to ever do it. I do know we have more weapons for Aaron than we had last year. The Defense will keep us in games, and we will see what happens from there. Rodgers is better than any current QB we have on the roster.

Not sure there will be a lot of interest in this with all the turmoil going on.

I'm sure this is not the last coach that will resign from Nelson County either. What a mess.

I'm going to throw this out there and see if what you guys think. With all the negativity on social media, message boards concerning Pope, and the criticism of players, do you think that is a possibility of why some of the top recruits and those in the portal and not choosing Lexington as a destination? It seems to me that Kentucky fans can be some of the most passionate, but also some of the most brutal fan base. Thoughts?

By a 15-2 vote, the Board voted to add Girls’ Flag Football to the docket in the spring of 2027-2028. The majority vote favored the spring season over the fall season when the data was collected. I wonder what this will do to Fast Pitch softball? How will this sport be affected since Girls Flag Football, will now be a spring sport?

I get the tradition part of it, but still not a fan. I know several districts across the state that you leave out a team, that could potentially win the region but was upset in the district. You look at the 9th district, you have four teams that can beat most of the other teams in the region, but because you have to go through, Owensboro, Daviess County, Apollo, or Owensboro Catholic on a given year, 2 of your better teams in the district are left out in the cold. Same can be said of the 5th region, 6th and 7th and 11 and NKY as well.

I guess my question is, the way things look now, UK will struggle next year, unless Pope does just an outstanding job coaching, which being honest has not looked like a strong possibility. This is not to bash Pope but trying to be as objective as I can, who do you think UK could get to come coach? Again, let's keep it real. UK fan base was not very kind at the end of Tubby's tenure, Billy Clyde, well that was a train wreck, and then the end of Cal's tenure, the fan base had all they wanted of losing to 15 seeds, and first round exits from the tournament. We just watched UNC, hire an NBA coach, that I had to google when I heard the name because I had no clue who he was. So, considering the fan base and how rough they have been on coaches who could UK get and who would want this job?

But you can bet your bottom dollar people will be watching it. If people are going to watch it, then TV will put it on and pay for it. My question is this: What good is the regular season? And for the love of all that is holy, why have a conference tournament? You are taking 76 teams. Before you know it, it will be 84, then 96, then 108, after that it will be all D-1 teams in the tournament.

Oh, I see, we want participation trophies, got it.

Congratulations to the Cumberland County Lady Panthers as they are the State Champs of the All "A" Classic. Cumberland County beat 2-time defending State Champs, Livingston Central 1-0 in the Semi's and went on to defeat Somerset 11-5 in the Championship game. Great weekend of Softball at Jack C. Fisher Park in Owensboro.

Personally, I love the idea of a Super Region and move away from the district tournaments.

If you would think back to last year, when OHS was looking for a football coach, there was very little that leaked out about that. Todd Harper the AD, does a great job of keeping everything pretty closed, and not much leaks out from OHS. I do know they are interviewing some tomorrow 4/21/26. But who I have no idea.

Coach if it does work out, I prefer my crow medium with just a touch of seasoned salt. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.

I was listening to Ricky P. after the final 4, and he made the comment that UK, Duke, UNC, KU MSU those we refer to as the "Blue Bloods" of basketball, those days are gone! Those schools will always be great, but in the day of Revenue Sharing and NIL, the "blue blood" days are over. I mean look this year you had Michigan, UConn, IL, AZ in the final 4, with UK going out in the round of 32 as did KU, Duke in the Elite 8; MSU Sweet 16; UNC went out in the first round. What are your thoughts?

UNC hired the greatest NFL football coach of all time, please remind me of how that worked out for them. Just because he has won an NBA Championship does not mean it's going to correlate a NCAA National Championship. Bill didn't even make a bowl game or a winning season and tried to run UNC like New England South.

Well I'm old enough to know that nothing surprises me.
