I think that DPI should have been a no call.

In that scenario, I'm all for calling targeting on the Offensive player. How low is a defender supposed to go?

I think my concern is what someone commented player safety. Either we are going to protect they players or we are not. It seems to me any hit in the head and neck area, should be a targeting penalty, but for God's sake take the ejection out of the rule.

And their 8-5 record backs up their "best team" argument. Nope, blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

I have one question it was late in the game there was a defenseless receiver for ASU that was hit by a UT linebacker with the helmet above the neck in the head area that was called targeting on the field but overturned by replay? It appears, that every league, ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big XII has no clue what targeting is or is not. There has been several this year that I thought was textbook targeting calls only to be overruled by replay. So, I guess my concern is we do one of two things. Get on the same page about that call, where everyone knows what it is when they see it, or simply remove it from the rulebook and all hits go! Way too much judgment for replay to overrule the call on the field. Just my $.02 worth.

I said it when the bracket first came out, and I'll say it again. Boise State did not earn a first-round bye. At no point did I ever feel like Penn State was in trouble. From the outset, PSU dominated the LOS on both sides of the ball, I think Jeanty had one decent run of 26 yards. Great player but one guy is not going to beat a Power 4 team.

Personally, I think the horse is out of the barn, and there will be no way to get that horse back in the barn, unless there is someone who has the respect of the universities, and the respect of coaches and players alike. Who can bring common sense (something that is lacking in our world, not just in athletics) to this crazy time we are living in. I certainly don't want to sound like I'm against the players getting paid or having rights, what I am saying is while they are getting paid and have more rights now than ever, there still has to be some kind of regulations and restrictions. No where is there a commitment to an organization. The days of a Cal Ripken, Derek Jeter, or a Tim Duncan, Reggie Miller, John Stockton are over. Players now are basically athletic (a word I don't think I need to use in any forum) available to the highest bidder. In my mind that is what we are seeing right now in college with NIL and so to be profit sharing.

So, there can be a restriction on coaches (buyout), but not on players? I think there has to be some form of guidelines on the players. Even the NFL, MLB, NBA has contracts on players. Otherwise, it's simply a freefall, there has to be some form of guidelines, restrictions, whatever you want to call it on the players. If not, the players (17,18,19-year-old kids) are running the asylum, and who thinks that is a good idea. These players already have agents, that I'm certain are not working for free, and are doing all they can to protect the players, I just think there has to be something in place that also protects the Universities as well. Regardless of what I or anyone else thinks, there is no such thing as a "student athlete" anymore. I certainly agree that the portal has to change on when it can be open, right now coaches, especially in the playoffs, are at a total disadvantage with regards to the portal. I don't know how I feel about discarding the rest of the bowls. I do believe that those extra days of practice help, and teams, that don't make the playoffs, have to have some reward on a decent season. So, team that finishes 9-3 but doesn't make the playoffs should have some type of reward on their season. I agree that teams with a 6-6 record, need to pack their stuff up and get ready for spring ball.

A union sounds like a good way to go, especially to ensure the players do not get screwed over. I would also suggest from a school's standpoint, that instead of NLI, that players be required to sign a year-to-year contract. We have watched as the bowl season has become a joke. To ensure that players play in the bowl game, they have the contract, or they forfeit their NIL and profit sharing from the school. I also like what Coach Prime did for his two players who will be high draft picks in the next NFL draft, by getting insurance to cover them, God forbid, should an injury happen in the bowl game.

I will always be a Cane." The landscape of today's college sports is making it nearly impossible for this "old school" coaches to continue. NIL and profit sharing and kids calling the shots, means we lose some of the better coaches. Football has lost Saban, basketball has lost Coach K, Bennett and now Larranaga. Whose next?

I think this is the best team, by far that ND will face this year. Stockton showed what he could do in the SEC championship game, so I have no issues with him taking the reins in this one. I think UGA's defense is going to be the difference in this game. UGA's front 7 maybe the best in the nation. Plus, with ND losing their most potent pass rusher, I think that hurts ND. I think UGA wins, and I would not be surprised if they win by double digits. That's right you heard it here first folks.

I hate Texas with a passion, that being said, Texas sometimes has an issue with over looking at team. I hope they over look ASU, and the Sun Devils prevail. Who in the ^&*( I'm I fooling. Texas will win, but I'm pulling for ASU.

If, this game comes down to a coaching decision, I'm picking Dan Lanning every time and twice on Sunday. I just don't have confidence in Ryan Day. With that being said, I agree that this game will come down to a few mistakes, either turnovers, special teams, or a busted play on defense. I like Oregon in this game, but I'll not be surprised if OSU wins either. Voted for Oregon.

I seen Penn State the first game of the season, and knew then they would be here, and they will advance to the Semi's easy over Boise State, who in my opinion had no business receiving a first round bye!

My how things have changed. I remember the good ole days when Nebraska was a wishbone offense and if they threw the ball 10 times in a game it was a miracle. I'm sure Tom Osborne is cringing with all the passes being thrown at Memorial Stadium, in Lincoln. Side note I did hear a good joke about Nebraska. You know what the N stands for on their helmets?

Who would you recommend regulate this? The NCAA? They have no backbone to do anything. The Universities? They are competing for the same kids now. The Power 4 Conferences? 2 of those are already taking a back seat to the Power 2. I think we have only seen the tip of the iceberg with regards to how much these kids can make. I read somewhere that Arch Manning would be taking a pay cut to go to the NFL, now that my friend is plan asinine.

Great job, only thing I would add is Adair's loss to N. Oldham and Newport, is two the of the better teams in the state. The one that stands out to me is that Larue lost to Grayson Co. I have no issue with this ranking at all. Merry Christmas 5th region.

This is not a job I would want to take, the latest coach, who had a pedigree to build a program, was fired by the administration. I would not place my name in the hat for DC if I wanted to build a program with support from the administration.
