I plan on being at this game, and like everyone else, I think it will be a close ball game. Whichever team can control the LOS will win this game. For me, I think that gives the Hart the edge. I think a mistake, (turnover, special teams) by either team is what will really decide this game. Give me Hart, but it's gonna be real close!

As long as we are working with an imperfect game (football), with imperfect people (you can put whomever you want here) it by necessity constitutes and imperfect system. Instead of the RPI, why not assign points to all class A team 6 points for a win, 8 for 2A and on up, so if a 6A teams beats a 2 A team they get 8 points and a point for each win that team earns during the season. Then when you play an out of state team, you know exactly what you will be getting for the win. But then again, I'm an imperfect man, trying to come up with a perfect system for an imperfect game.

If memory serves me correctly, didn't UGA have a hiccup early in the season last year at Mizz? I think UGA was doing this week, what UK did last week. Look past USC to the UGA game and UGA was looking past UK to the Bama game. Just my opinion.

As a diehard, WVU fan, it's time that WVU cut ties with Neal, I know he is a Kentucky boy, but 32-31 overall record does not cut it. I'll be the first to admit I was excited about the hire of Neal Brown 6 years ago. While at Troy he had some signature wins, going to Nebraska and LSU and pulling off the upset. But in 6 years, he does not have a signature win to hang his hat on. Then to blow a 10 point lead with 4 minutes to go, is totally unacceptable. No bowl game this week and I hope Wren Baker, has the guts to pull the trigger to fire him. Do you Kentucky fans still want him?

Devil I totally understand your point, but as you stated that is a very bad loss for SW. The good thing is they have 9 more games to right the ship!

After Southwestern was shut out by a very average North Hardin team, I would struggle putting them in the top 10 right now.

Tonight all across this great Commonwealth, in communities large and small, will be Friday night lights! Please keep these things in mind as you go cheer on your favorite team. Sportsmanship! Cheer if you want, but please refrain from being negative towards at 15, 16 or 17 year old kid. Please do not criticize the coaches, they are doing what they feel is best for their team. Last, but certainly not least, Do not criticize the officials. Just because you pay your $5.00 to get in does not give you the right to demean the men and women in stripes. Remember if they are not their it's just a intermural game. While you do have freedom of speech, you do not have freedom from the consequences of what you say! This season, I pray their are no serious injuries. May your QB complete every pass, may your linemen, not miss any assignments, may your running backs not fumble the ball, and the receivers catch every pass. May your defense not give up any points, nor miss any tackles. May your DB intercept every pass, and may your LB's recover every fumble. But most of all good luck to every team, and all the coaches. To my brother's and sister's in the stripes, be safe in your travels, may we get every call right and I pray this is your best year ever of officiating! Good luck! BEZ

Here's what I personally think, coaches are asked in pregame if their players are properly and legally equipped. If, we have to send a kid out for knees not being covered it should be a 15 yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct on the coach. I promise you, if that happens one time, players will wear their uniforms correctly!

I know it was stressed in our Association MKOA, I was told in Louisville and Lexington it is being stressed as well. Last Friday in our scrimmage was the first time, we never had to send one player off for illegal equipment.

It’s not silly when it is a rule. You cannot pick and choose which rules you will enforce and which rules you will not enforce. The real problem comes in the playoffs when you have one association enforce the rule and another association not enforcing it.

Before I touch on the Rules Emphasis for this year, please keep this in mind: 1. You may have been watching College or the NFL football for many years, but your child is playing according to high school rules. In fact, there are over 100 rules differences between the three levels. 2. Before you decide to yell at the refs, keep in mind that they've attended rules and mechanics meetings and passed a rules exam. You have done none of this! 3. New officials are put on youth games for the same reason your 10 year old doesn't get to play varsity; they have to develop too! 4. Even if your kid is good enough to get a football scholarship one day, his coach isn't going to care about the bad game he had when he was 12 or even as a underclassman in high school. 5. Mistakes in officiating will be eliminated when fumbles, dropped passes, missed assignments, and blown coverages are eliminated as well. 6. Every year, it gets harder and harder to find officials for high school, and middle school and youth football. The reason? The parents! Think about this before you decided to post a video of a call you don't like so you and a bunch of other people who've never read a rule book can debate a call you don't like! Rule Emphasis for 2024: 1. Sportsmanship: Each year the sportsmanship between players and fans deteriorates that much more, with that in mind remember this: Everyone involved must clearly understand that education-based athletics is an extension of the classroom and is about more than just winning and losing, getting scholarships and gaining accolades. Education-based athletics is about learning, and the conduct and actions of everyone involved should reflect this. 2. Hand Shake line protocol 1. Administrators/security from both schools should be stationed on the field in close proximity to the handshake line. 2. One team should be on the right and the other team should be on the left. Players from one team should not be allowed to walk down both sides of the line. 3. Absolutely no non-essential personnel should be allowed on the field or sidelines until both teams have reached a designated area after completion of the handshake line. 4. A coach or administrator should be stationed at the end of the handshake line to direct the players who have completed the line to a designated area on their end of the field. Do not allow the players to continue to the opposing sideline or to the other end of the field. 5. Have one or more coaches at the front of the line and one or more at the end of the line. Improving the current state of the game regarding the prevalence of unsporting behavior requires that everyone involved commit to addressing the issue. Civility, even in the midst of intense competition, matters. 3. Player Equipment and Enforcement To support the safety of all participants, players must wear equipment and uniforms that are properly fitted and worn as intended by the manufacturer. Before starting each game, the head coach must verify that all players are properly and legally equipped. The use of knee pads is an area targeted for emphasis. Due to potential injury, it is essential that players only be allowed to participate if their pants and knee pads comply with the rules. Pants must completely cover the knees, and knee pads must be worn over the knee. In pregame duties, game officials should be watchful and proactive in addressing potential equipment, and more specifically, knee pad issues. Players often wear pants that slide up and expose the knee during movement. Game officials should communicate with coaches and/or players and ensure that only legally and properly equipped players are allowed to participate – noncompliance results in nonparticipation. 4. Formations Over the past several years, there has been a considerable decline by many teams in their efforts to line up legally. There has also been a decrease by game officials with enforcement of illegal formations, especially involving offensive linemen. Linemen are legally on the line of scrimmage when they face their opponent’s goal line and have head or foot breaking the imaginary plane through the waist of the snapper. It has become fairly common to see guards or tackles line up a yard or two off the ball to aid in pass blocking or pulling. Doing so provides a significant advantage for the offense and should be addressed at the first opportunity by coaches and game officials. Game officials should monitor pre-game warm-up and communicate (through coaches) to allow them to correct borderline or illegal formation issues they have observed. Once the contest begins, preventive officiating skills should be used at the earliest opportunity to allow coaches to make adjustments before formation issues become egregious. However, formations that clearly and obviously do not meet the specifications of NFHS Football Rules 2-32-3, 2-32-9 and 7-2 must be penalized as fouls without warning. IF (and that's a big if) I was the AD at Pulaski, aka Brian Miller, my first call would be to my alma mater and see if Stonebreaker has any interest in leaving Adair to come to PC. It's not about padding your schedule it's about winning at a higher level. PC has the resources, MS program and the elementary school program as well. Just my $.02.

It might be tough, but another added advantage would be the early signing period for High School players. But there are only two schools that the NC game affects the other players could enroll at whatever school they want to transfer to.

As I have watched the bowl season thus far, it has been abysmal to watch these teams play in bowl games with the stands empty. Kids worked hard for that opportunity, but how do we re-energize the bowl games especially when next year we head into a 12 team playoff. I think there are a couple of things the NCAA needs to do to save it. 1. The transfer portal does not open until after the National Championship game. That way you will have no player opting out because of being in the portal. 2. It needs to be in every player's NIL contract. If you take money to play from said University, you MUST, play in the bowl game, unless you are physically unable to. These kids are being paid to play for their school, why give them money and then they opt out of a game in which the University is making money for them to play in. Just my thoughts, but if something doesn't change it will only be the Playoff teams in the post season. Thoughts?

Why would Kirby even remotely consider this? He now is the King of college football, taking the crown from his mentor Nick Saban. Not a chance he leaves Athens for Atlanta.
