Final. Penn State was in control for most all of this one. They will take on the Georgia and Notre Dame winner in the CFP semifinals. That game will be on Jan. 9th at 7:30pm on ESPN.

Wow, what a semi-final that should be!!

It will imo be the biggest game in James Franklin's career. I don't think many people expected Penn State to lose either of these games. He needs to beat Notre Dame or Georgia to get the "Can't Win the Big One" off his resume.

This was a better game than the final score ended up being. However, Penn State jumped out early and Boise just couldn’t get all the way over that hump to get all the way back in it.

I agree. Penn State was clearly the more physical and athletic team. Penn State could have put Boise away late in the first quarter off of Jeanty’s fumble but didn’t. I thought it was an overall close game considering how well Jeanty was contained. However, it was also pretty clear that Boise needed more horses to make it more competitive as the game got into the later stages.

I said it when the bracket first came out, and I'll say it again. Boise State did not earn a first-round bye.  At no point did I ever feel like Penn State was in trouble. From the outset, PSU dominated the LOS on both sides of the ball, I think Jeanty had one decent run of 26 yards. Great player but one guy is not going to beat a Power 4 team.

Boise needed more high caliber players, that was the bigger issue to me. Jeanty is still going to get a very good draft pick come draft time.

Finishing a college football season having 27 yards less than what Barry Sanders finished with isn’t too shabby. Granted, more football games are played now but that’s not going to be an easy number to break. Barry Sanders was the man at running back, still is, and always will be in my opinion.
