What a game!!!  The Rocks get state championship No. 2. And it was Caleb Ricks sealing the deal, just as he did with a pick six for the football Rocks in December.

I'm excited to announce that I will be live broadcasting all Highlands Baseball games live on bluebirdsradio.com . First will be Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 against South Warren.

No, but the layout of the tournament is different, too. The first round games are Thursday and Friday with the quarterfinals on Saturday. The semifinals and finals are the next Friday and Saturday. Yo

Off the top of my head I like Trinity and PRP in the finals.

Anyone?

I think that's a pretty good pick. Some of the 1st round games are very intriguing. I like the Taylor/Sayre matchup, South Warren and Highlands and PRP/Corbin. Those 3 should be pretty good games.

I agree, I looked over the final rankings and all the first round matchups.  Those are some good ones you mentioned!

I'd have to go with the Shamrocks as the favorite. But looking at PRP, McCracken, Lyon County, Taylor County, and Sayre probably the next best five. And two of four of those teams make up first round games in Lyon County-McCracken and Taylor County Sayre.

Should be an exciting tournament.

Do people attend this like they do the Boys Sweet 16? I’ve attended numerous basketball tournaments staying the whole week.

The couple of times I have been the crowd was thin.

that's what I assumed. I should’ve had a better question. Do people go all week like they do for the boys state tournament? We would golf, go to the games, watch the ncaa tournament etc. A lot to do during that week in March vs first week in June.

Right, plus that ends up being a vacation week for many people in March and you can sell your unused tickets that maybe you didn't have to pay for.  Everyone is already out of school and the weather is warm in June.  Apples and Oranges.

This guy always shows up no matter the situation. The USPS should make you the logo for them. Keep up the good work, I always enjoy the play by play when I tune in.

No, but the layout of the tournament is different, too. The first round games are Thursday and Friday with the quarterfinals on Saturday. The semifinals and finals are the next Friday and Saturday. You'll see good pitching from every school in the first round but don't expect to see home runs - the big park swallows up long fly balls.

I really enjoy going to the semifinals and finals. It is high level baseball and the crowds are excited. Baseball will never draw the crowds of basketball or football, but they play it at UK, which is a terrific place to watch a game. I'd encourage anyone who hasn't been to make the trip.

I'd probably pick the same, although McCracken County did win at PRP and lost a tight 2-1 decision to Trinity during the regular season. McCracken has been good since they opened, playing in the state tournament 11 times in 12 years (their only absence was the canceled 2020 season). They lost in the finals in 2019, 2021, and 2024 and have yet to win it. This might be their year.

So you could pitch your best 2 pitchers if you keep winning all the way through?
