Tyler Fryman may not break individual records this season-sacrificing personal stats for what's best for the team to put them in the optimal position to win a State Championship. But make no mistake, he is a premier, high-caliber athlete and a true Swiss Army Knife who can dominate at any position on the field. I.M.O. Beechwood could have thrown longer passes to Fryman and Arrasmith time after time for long plays, BUT it was important they controlled the clock and the OC and offense played that out very well with short runs and passes time after time. Beechwood could have picked what they wanted todo and they chose right!

Shout out to the offensive and defensive line at Beechwood. It all starts up front and they did a heck of a job keeping Queen protected as well as holes they opened up for the run game. Beechwood defense overall, they played solid throughout the game. Four to Five BIG plays that turned into Cov Cath TD's that Beechwood backers and secondary will have to get better on in order to be dominant.

Knowing Beechwood has a larger district of play to contend with vs. the other 2 or 3 2A contenders at the top it doesn't seem to come into Beechwood's favor. Hopefully some of those teams Beechwood has faced or will face win a few games. Regardless, it would be better for the semifinals to be played on a nice neutral site for both teams of play.

Based on the stats, it seems Fryman is more underutilized on offense than expected. However, the OC clearly knows best, which is backed by the team's success this year. The team seems like a more rounded squad with plenty of options-which is always a good tool for the OC to have in their back pocket.

Beechwood has shown just about every offensive skill player can be involved in the first two games so far which is a great thing for Beechwood and the front line is getting it done to make all that happen. It would be nice to see if the coaches let QB1 throw more passes though, seems he's limited to throwing based on how the offense is set up! Friday night will be interesting to see if the ball is in the air or not. Either way, I see Beechwood's offense doing well and again, it all starts up front with the line which will be a good test for them against Simon Kenton's tough defensive line.

After watching this game Pabst & Fryman by far were the best players in the game.

Fryman was limited on certain series of downs for offense and defense. At best he may have been at 50%.

We won’t ever know, Fryman is in California at a MLB scouting event this week.

Anderson game was cancelled for next week so Beechwood travels next week now (8/14) to Madison Central and will scrimmage Somerset there at MCHS.

Trinity is a Powerhouse, good as they are advertised. From those that know KY High School Baseball much better than I ever will, how does the Trinity team this year stack up to any past State Championship teams over last 25 years?

Both head coaches have been really good at Beechwood the last 3-5 years, BUT people are forgetting how good ALL the assistant coaches are with this program. They are not just dedicated, they are very smart and extremely good at developing players.

Where’s 10th Region Tournament being played?

As nice as it sounds “Beechwood is set to win State” please let the season play out. There are several teams at the top, such as Lexington Christian Academy, they will be a really good team and the potential match up between both Beechwood and Lexington Christian Academy come early December could be epic. A lot of things have to happen post season to even have a chance at another State Title. Let’s cross that path if and when Beechwood gets there.

Don’t count Tyler Fryman from Beechwood out from the hunt, granted he might be drafted for baseball first. However, Fryman has been limited on touches, could you image if he played an entire game week after week in season and has as many touches as the other guys in the mix.

Love the early season play, too bad they still have to play so many district games, it’s totally wrong what KHSAA does to teams like this vs. others, BUT let’s Go! Just play on what’s handed to you and let’s go!

Keep in mind Fryman is also one of the best baseball players in the country for his position and possibly one of the fastest track runners in the State.

He, like other offensive players played only half of a game more than half the season. Whether it was a pass or out of Wildcat touched the ball 6 to 7 times (catches or run) PER game.
