I noticed all weekend defensive backs intentionally committing Pass Interference when a receiver had them beat on deep passes.

I saw possible gains of 50, 60, 70 yards replaced with a 15 yard penalty in nearly every game I watched and several times in the same games.

With defenses across the country in the mindset of committing a penalty rather than give up a gain, is it time to make the College Pass Interference Penalty a spot foul (like the NFL) or should it remain just a 15 yard penalty?

Leave it at 15 yards.  Actually, the NFL needs to change to this to match the college rule.  Too often, at the end of games, chuck one way down field and hope for DPI becomes the gameplan.

There are definitely arguments both ways. I think I like the spot foul better though.

Would be tough to say spot foul... I think 15 yards and an automatic first down would be good that way there's less incentive to commit one. A lot of the time there are ticky-tack ones or incidental contacts that would be majorly unfortunate for the committing team, but the automatic first down can help offenses stuck behind the sticks by giving them a new set to work with. Maybe if PIs are committed continuously and intentionally you can make it a personal foul call... but that may be too convoluted.

I think the NFL refs would be more inclined to call them if it was reduced to a 15 yard penalty.  That said, I'm fine with the way it is.  I believe the HS rule is not an automatic first-down.  I'd like to see that changed.

Let the official decide if intentional or not, intentionally grabbing the offensive player should be a spot infraction.

I'm with that too... like separate inferences... inadvertent pass interference, intentional pass interference. but I can just see the possible accusations from coaches and fans if it goes the way they don't want it to.

I do not like that, too much to be left to the discretion and judgment of an official. Officials are under scrutiny enough without adding this to them. Now, what I would be in favor of is for this to be reviewed like the targeting is review. The review official has a chance to see if it was intentional or not. If it is deemed intentional, they make it a spot foul.

Where are the review officials located and what games are they covering?

SEC is located in Birmingham

ACC in Charlotte

Big 10 in Indy

Big 12 in Dallas

There are no review officials located on site anymore to the best of my knowledge.
