  1. ONLY? Conking the coconut is nuttin' to fool with! Kudos to Dale & Med staff for making the RIGHT decision. Of course having McCoy & Houliston waiting isn't what I would call a tough decision!
  2. Prayers up for the young man's recovery.
  3. Dale being Dale!
  4. Just finished watching the internet feed from Elder and they did a great job with it! As did the Birds with the game! Game balls to Carter New, Bowden, Devon Bruns, and WOW!...Moose McCoy and AUSTIN SHEEHAN. Somebody PLEEEEASE give Ozzie a scholly....WHAT MORE DOES HE HAVE TO DO? Hope big #8 is ok and gets back quickly. But you gotta be impressed about the way Moose played (save the one unfortunate fumble for 6).
  5. UK needs to pony up and give Oz "the wizard" Sheehan a FULL SCHOLLY before some other D-1 school scoops him up (hint, hint UC). Blazing speed, precision routes, and great hands....what mo' you need?
  6. BRING BACK The MAN, The MYTH, The LEGEND...DON WEBER !!! The hardest working man in sports reporting!
  7. Solid opener....too many turnovers in first half...Carter New rises to the occasion and gets the Birds rolling. Lots of "coaching points" for Dale & Co. to work on though!
  8. ...I'm SURE you meant to say '08 line!
  9. Was that due to the "3 from each class" theory?
  10. For me, it would be the size of Jason Waldenmeyer, Senior O-lineman. He had a stellar JV season, opening massive holes for the backs to run in, last year. He looks to have added both height and weight, (6'3" / 280). He could be the anchor that the O-line needs. Heard he also wowed the staff at camps this summer at Louisville and Princeton....on DEFENSE! Also, gets it done in the classroom. (which is why Ivy schools are interested.)
  11. Who are these guys throwing to in these competitions? Congrats to both for a great lifetime experience!
  12. I hear they recently added Gary Schrader, former Highlands asst. coach and teammate of Dale Mueller, to the coaching staff. WOW! the Camels are assembling quite a bank of FB knowledge.
  13. Hey...I KNOW the Sheehan Clan bleeds the UK blue. As for there being little difference from the scholly athlete than the PWO...let's just say that's the song the coaches sing. The PWO is a VERY tough row to hoe. Talent is not always the difference, there are perceptions and coaches reputations to beat out, also. But I whole-heartedly agree that if a kid wants to "chase that dream" and ya' can swing it...then by all means chase that dream! Best of luck to Oz and his best friend in Lexington...I'll be pulling for them!
  14. I know all too well about a kid wanting to "live the dream"...and that's well and fine...but believe me, the financing of the college education ain't cheap and if UK can pony up for Ozzie's talent, I'm sure his parents would be much obliged! UK has been known to late/low ball KY kids because of (1) Keys $$ + (2) fanaticism can get them the non "slam dunk" prospects on the cheap and they can give the $$ to Fla/GA kids. I think it's great for Oz and wish him the best.
  15. OUTSTANDING!!! Also, Adam Dempsey, '08 HHS DL is also currently playing for the Bearcats as is Nick West, '09 Conner QB.
  16. Does Oz have a chance to earn a scholly there? If not, why not? Congrats to him anyway, but a walk-on offer so early???? Puzzles me?
  17. 270 was a guess-timate. Agreed that his frame is fit for either side of he line...and he does have the monkey-long arms that O-line coaches like. Heard he raised a few eyebrows at Louisville's mini camp recently. If the Bird's line gels, KATIE BAR THE DOOR!!
  18. What about the young Waldenmeyer boy? Heard he was the JV running backs favotite lineman. Looks like his diligence in the weight room has paid off...looked about 6'3/270 ?? Will he see the field this year on Fridays?
  19. Is the hard-ballin' Andy "killer" Miller considering a return to the gridiron? A VERY good well rounded athelete that can QB, WR, S, K/P... heck with his frame filled out he could be a pretty fair LB!
  20. Dale said they were the biggest, fastest, quickest, strongest, most talented Frosh team he's ever had!...............LOL!
  21. Saw Patrick hanging out with the Collinsworth boys this week...could ND still be in the hunt?
  22. Andy "killer" Miller with the big knock to tie the game and then scores the "winner, winner chicken dinner" run! Love to see the Ft. Thomas boys doing good down on the hill! And congrats to Luke "I'm no Fluke" Schmits on a well deserved MVP! Congrats to all the hard ballin' Breds and continued success in the state tourney! ...and my deepest sympathies and prayers to CovCath's Jack Grosser and family. It puts a real perspective on all of sports when tragedies strike.
