  1. Prayers up for BF, his family and his care givers. I'll have Patrick say a special one for you tomorrow....the Good Lord listens to him waaaay before me!
  2. Probably not listed because of having to be cleared by admissions. If Lyon is a PWO, he'll get to work out all summer and head to "Higher Ground" with the team. A HUGE difference from the reg. WO! Congrats to the young man!
  3. http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/0NiyKVw2dW8/mqdefault.jpg Fairy tales do come true.... I thought this was the video...apparently I'm "technologically challenged". Sorry.
  4. Never coached a down? Big deal...it's HS Frosh football, for crikey's sake. Even at Highlands! You gotta start somewhere. I do know Brady and know he grew up in the HHS system and was a very good player and student. He's passionate, articulate, and cares about the Bluebird intangibles. Besides, Dale can mentor him since he won't have anything to do after school anymore!
  5. Brady Dowling from the '07 SC team? Would be an EXCELLENT selection!
  6. Prayers up for Coach Rice and family!
  7. I just wanted to jump on this thread and give a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Danny "Daddy Wags" Wagner for an excellent job this year! And also to wish NCC the best of luck in bringing back another SC to the "hill"!
  8. And yet Charlie burned Quick's redshirt in blowouts....why ?
  9. Wishing Munchie nothing but the best! What a class kid. He has handled adversity much better than most have handled success!
  10. Big ups to the humpbacks for scheduling the Birds! Lickert knows playing tough teams makes you better later in the season and overall in your program. Plenty of playing time for all the Birds in this one. Birds won't be looking to run it up, but if CC is turning it over.....well, it could be ugly. Won't be long before CCHS is challenging in this game.
  11. no to undefeated...but even with a loss, the Cats could get a BCS bowl. And any game #91 is in is "worth watching" !
  12. What about the playing surface? I was up there recently and it really looked in sad condition. Any plans on that front?
  13. :dancingpaCongrats to Nick and his family. Wishing you all the success possible at WKU! Now, have a stellar SR. season!:dancingpa
  14. If I may...the following is a reprint of a blog, TML by Paul Daugherty, that ran on MLK Day in the Enquirer. His daughter, Jillian, and my son both have Down syndrome. The Morning Line, 1/21 01/21/13 at 8:28am by Paul Daugherty 20 Comments Anybody here seen my old friend Martin. . . Happy MLK Day to youse, Mobsters. I hope it finds you of benevolent spirit and open mind. The battleground of understanding has shifted some since Dr. King suggested non-violent protest. The clash now occurs more over immigration. But the spirit is unchanged. Sometimes we forget we are a nation of visitors, that the people who made us what we are didnt originate here. I’d hope we’re more tolerant now than we were in 1964. I think we are, in most areas. But not necessarily in the one closest to me. So before we get on the sports track, indulge The Man a filibuster. In terms of perception, Jillian The Magnificent is about where blacks were in 1965. That is, most people don’t see my daughter. They look at her. Seeing implies active engagement, a willingness to venture beyond appearance. Looking is passive. People who look at Jillian see someone who appears different than they are. They’re fearful of that difference, so they don’t engage. People who take the time to see Jillian discover a warmth and genuine-ness not common to “typical” folks. It’s sad to think of the human potential we wasted for centuries, when white people looked at black people, instead of seeing them. There is also the problem of language. People who wouldn't think of dropping the N word into any conversation now have no problem using the R word. I heard a lawyer/talk-show host on WLW use it casually the other day, on Eddie and Tracy. Tracy, being Tracy, made a sophomoric little joke about the need to be politically correct. It’s not funny. Language colors perception. Perception is reality. Every time I hear a comedian or an actor in a movie use the R word, I want to cry. So if you do nothing else today, in remembrance of Dr. King, please avoid the R Word. Thanks.
  15. Agreed...option A! Would rather have the state champ years adorning the sides, though.
  16. ...Defensively, UC was led by Clemente Casseus (Miami, Fla./Everglades), Adam Dempsey (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) and Zach Edwards (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) who each tied for the lead with six tackles. How 'bout that big ol' Bluebird!
  17. What about Pat towles favorite target from HS, Ozzie "the Wizard" Sheehan? Will he get a legitimate shot at playing?
  18. NOBODY gets homered at home more than Highlands! Heard "No Fluke" Luke Turner got some words of inspiration from his ol' ball coach prior to the game. Must be why he went off for 27! Congrats on the big night!
