  1. Some programs give PWO's "legitimate" shots where other programs don't really want to be bothered
  2. 4 yrs / 24-7-365 / pressure to uphold the tradition / QB....PLUS the academics, after winning state there is a "decompression" that happens and many players that "coulda, woulda" decide to hang it up. Many have second thoughts later on.
  3. old shooter's trick didn't fool an obvious expert referee. He slapped his own thigh as the defender passes cleanly by, thus giving the illusion of an audio foul!
  4. Just MHO, but I think he is suffering from "Bluebird Burn-out". Would love to have him attend UC's top rated engineering school and then find his way onto Nippert field at some point. Which ever way he goes, Moose's ol'ball coach wishes nothing but the best for him...and all his Bluebird teammates, wherever they matriculate to!
  5. THREE TOURS! THANK YOU and may God watch over him!
  6. As my friends LN and JOAT say, "We'll have to agree to disagree".
  7. Whomever they give the job to really doesn't matter....fix the sound system!
  8. Wasn't aware that the Birds were down to their 3rd option at PG. 2 dislocated shoulders! Wow! Diving for loose balls? Hope both recover fully...and soon! Good luck to the Birds against NCC. Keep scrappin'!!
  9. noticed last night that HHS does not have a "true" PG. Why do the Birds make Witte work so hard to just get up court and into the offense? The guy inbounding the ball had no defender pressuring him. He would inbound the ball to Witte, who's being dogged by #20 all over the floor, and then run down court. Does that man not know how to set a pick? Or bring True up just over half court and set a pick. A good hard pick by True would have had the much smaller #20 at least looking over his shoulder. When your PG is NOT a PG, maybe the staff could arrange some help for him so come 4Q there's something left in the tank?? There's no help on the bench. And did a HHS player play JV and then START varsity? And if this is correct, is that allowable?
  10. Big congrats to "Daddy Wags"!! Now schedule....nevermind!
  11. Band has to play equal # of Boys AND Girls games.
  12. My son played in this game and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. You have to be nominated and then the player has to accept to play. Some players don't accept and another player will get an opportunity. I can't believe anyone would decline the invitation, unless they had a REAL good reason. KY beat TN that year and my son and his fellow teammate garnered the Defensive MVP and Game MVP honors, respectively. The Border Bowl experience is a VERY fond memory in my son's HS FB career. (which includes a couple of SC's). He did NOT get a scholly from his effort there, but has gone on to play at D1 level and a couple college bowl games. Many lower division colleges contacted him from the BB game experience, he just had his sights set on playing at a higher level. It was a very 1st class affair! PS. Did anyone ever turn in my wife's camera that we lost? lol! A lot of GREAT photos were taken!
  13. Gotta be added! My apologies T.G.! AND Clay Cecil! And "special" mention to Will "the Thrill" Bardo!
  14. Like winning? L'Ville has a MUCH better chance at BCS in the BE/ACC than TN will have in a decade!
  15. Crunch...you cut me to the quick! When all is said and done, I will expect and accept your apologies (or a beer!). ALL coaches think they can do better...outside of 10-15 BIG time programs. Heck, the B1G Champ/Rose Bowl coach just bolted for Arkansas! WHY can "a coach like Butch Jones" think he can do better? Because UC FB has succeeded. All we need are facilities and fannies in the seats...which is difficult in the 'Natti with it's notorious fickleness. But UCFB IS shaping up to be a big thing....recent BCS bowls, MULTIPLE conference championships, players to the NFL...and doing it with multiple coaches says more about the FB program than getting lucky with a coaching hire. It's attitudes, masses and media, locally that UCFB has to change. Hold the Rope! It's coming....it's been proven before.
  16. Any QB who led the Birds to a State Title deserves to be in the conversation. With that in mind, I nominate Dr. Bert Bathiany and "Touchdown" Tommy Roberts!
  17. I was thinking more along the lines of the song often heard on M*A*S*H..."My Blue Seven" (heaven). Congrats to the team and all of Bluebird Nation!
  18. BF...thank you very much for being my link to #22!:notworthy:
  19. Would that be Boone County's finest, Mr. Gary Ball of the Ball Report?
  20. that would be "going to the well once too often" !
  21. Only if it's the ACC we are familiar with.
