Great Game Birds! Road to the 4A Championship, game #1, mission accomplished!

Way to go Defense! New was a game changer!

Solid opener....too many turnovers in first half...Carter New rises to the occasion and gets the Birds rolling. Lots of "coaching points" for Dale & Co. to work on though!

HHS snaps Boyle's 30-game winning streak.

Way to go Highlands, you all have some great athletes. Don't give up Rebels, we've got alot of season left and can only improve going forward.

Got home in time to catch the 4th quarter. These two will see each other again. Good win on the road in the opener.

Defense settled in for the birds and came up big. What a return by New on the pic six for 86 yards and a td! Did Cox get injured i didnt hear his name in the third and fourth?

Looked like it was going to be one heck of a game but the last minute drive at the end of the first half was a back breaker...

Boyle certainly has nothing to be ashamed of. They were really getting it done on offense on several drives.

I tuned in during the 3rd qtr. Hometown announcers seemed to think there were a lot of missed calls on HHS. Anyone?

He kept going out with what appeared to be muscle cramps.

ihigh game announcers said Boyle was basically robbed of momentum by the officials. They said "what comes around goes around in November." Said Highlands wasn't called for alot of penalties and played some dirty football.....I thought it was classy of Dales Birds to take a knee. Bird turnovers and penalties at inopportune times potentially cost them a couple more scores......I thought it was a hard fought game by the kids on both sides and didn't see alot of what the announcers claimed was terrible officiating.

I was at the game and didn't notice any of this. There were some very bad calls but it was both ways and nothing I would call abnormal for high school officiating.

I had as much fun laughing at them as watching the game. Particularly with some of the interesting camera work. Still, it's better than 95% of what the rest of the schools are doing.
