McCain's Oil Wrong

Recommended Posts

Barack Obama's presidency would be paradise compared to George W. Bush's hideous time spent leading this country. Conservatives have had their chance and look at our situation. Do you really think another conservative is going to do better than Bush?

Didn't Bush have a heavy conservative majority in congress earlier in his term as President?

John McCain was rated 17% by the CAF, indicating opposition to energy independence.

About the CAF (from their website, http://www.ourfuture.org):

The Campaign for America's Future (CAF) is a center for ideas and action that works to build an enduring majority for progressive change. The Campaign advances a progressive economic agenda and a vision of the future that works for the many, not simply the few. The Campaign is leading the fight for America's priorities--against privatization of Social Security, for investment in energy independence, good jobs and a sustainable economy, for an ethical and accountable Congress and for high quality public education.

For a comparison, Barack Obama received a 100% rating by the CAF indicating support for energy independence.

John McCain

Barack Obama

In other words they are raving liberals.

HB, I'm not going to stoop the typical level you take these arguments to, so lets just agree to the fact that you hate Bush, I merely dislike him and you respect Obama and I can't stand him. Let's just leave it at that. :thumb:

What level does he stoop to? He's just debating with you...

For starters...

Calling on every vehicle manufacturer that serves the U.S. market to produce flex-fuel vehicles – cars and trucks that can be powered with either gasoline or biofuels – across their fleet;

Providing tax incentives for people to buy fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles that run on both gasoline and electricity.

Investing in plug-in hybrids that can cover up to 40 miles on electricity alone.

Since President Bush took office, the Federal Government has spent more than $12 billion to research, develop, and promote alternative energy sources.

This whole plug in hybrid thing is kind of interesting for me. Where are we going to get all the additional electricity to power these vehicles? Can't have nukes because people worry about the waste and possible leaks. Can't burn coal because it causes acid rain and removing it rapes the land. Can't dam more rivers because it stops the salmon from spawning and adversely affects the habitat of animals depending on a flowing river habitat. Can't build more wind mills because it adversely effects migratory birds. And people wonder why we are still dependent on oil. Go figure. :madman:

Obama is not going to be a paradise from a conservative standpoint.

Bush did not have a heavy conservative majority in Congress. You seem to forget the major Democratic obstructionism that went on.

Moreover, from a fiscal standpoint, you know as well as I do that Bush has not been conservative.

To say "conservatives have had their chance" is stretching it.

You know what we are talking about.

Aren't most Republicans conservative? It's their own fault for electing people who aren't conservative enough. I didn't vote for George W. Bush. I wouldn't have voted for him if I were Republican.

If conservatives want someone more conservative, maybe they should try electing someone more conservative.

What I was asking, or what I meant to ask, is wasn't Bush in office when the House and Senate were both majority Republican?

The link does not work for me but it does not matter. I am not interested in the opinions of George Soros' front organizations. They are not credible. (Soros has donated at least $300,000 to Campaign for America's Future.)

I got the numbers from "On The issues" website at the links I provided below that.

It doesn't matter. The numbrs are from Soros's front organization, regardless of who cited them elsewhere.

Just because he donated money doesn't mean it is his organization. You can't discredit everything with Soros' name attached to it can you? If so, then how can you believe anything out of either Presidential Candidates mouths. Wasn't it you who pointed out that he has donated money to both campaigns?

Yes that was me. This is also not the first time that I have informed you that you have posted statistics from a website to which Soros has made large donations. If you want to rely on statistics or rankings from websites accepting large donations from Soros, that is your business but IMO anything tainted by Soros cash is suspect and that includes both candidates.

Soros has made much of his fortune manipulating currencies. He was convicted of insider trading in France.

IMO, if this country follows the course that Soros has proposed, our economy will continue to decline. I suspect that Soros is betting against the dollar and will add to his sizable personal fortune as the dollar continues to weaken.

I do not trust socialists and I do not trust Soros in particular. He has a record of cashing in on other people's misery and I have no reason to believe that he has my best interests at heart. Politicians who are in bed with Soros have sold their souls to the devil.

I understand that you are the one who told me about George Soros. I understand that I have posted links that apparently he is connected to. I apologize for not taking the time to research every single link to make sure he is not associated with them. I do not have the time and I honestly do not care if his name is attached to it. It's really not a big deal to me.

Regardless, why are you voting if your last sentence is true? You said yourself numerous times that he has donated money to both campaigns...

I just found an interesting article about McCain and Soros btw...

John McCain: George Soros' Useful Idiot?

McCain was Soros' top pick among Republicans but Obama is clearly Soros's top pick in November. If you have no problem with the propaganda spread by Soros's puppets, then you should vote for Obama. If you really believe that McCain is the sixth most conservative member of the US Senate, then Obama is your man. If you believe that Obama has a plan to provide the US full energy independence, then I would vote for Obama if I were you.

I just wonder how somebody who believes all of the above could possibly be undecided. If I believed all of that stuff, I would be making plans to vote for Obama on the earliest possible data so that I could help haul other voters to the polls on election day.

(Ask youself why Geoge Soros would provide financial support for one of the most conservative members of the US Senate. Answer - he wouldn't.)

Completely agree. Another conservative is not the answer. Our country can't handle four more years of their leadership. Look where we are now!!!
