EKUAlum05
With so many 0-10 teams earning a spot in the playoffs, let's evaluate who the best teams sitting at home right now are, and what teams have a legitimate arguement that the playoff system was unfair for them to miss a spot? 1A- Pineville (4-6) maybe? 2A- Reidland by a unanimous decision (Reidland is the ONLY 2A team to miss the playoffs) 3A- Either Casey County or Powell County, both went 3-7 with incrediably weak non-district schedules. 4A- Allen-County Scottsville at 1-9 edges 1-9 Madison Southern 5A- Grant County with a 6-4 record appears to be the only team with a winning record to miss the playoffs. At that, though, Southwestern at 2-8 still may be the best team to miss the 5A Playoffs. 6A- You have your choice between 5-5 teams in Madisonville-North Hopkins and Central Hardin.... The resounding effect looking at who missed the playoffs had, was simply a confirmation of something that was presumably assumed already. that is, that at least teams who miss the playoffs in the new system typically are teams who would have missed the playoffs in the old system as well. The only teams with any reasonable arguement of "why should such and such make the playoffs, but we have to miss out would seem to me to be the afforementioned Grant County (0-10 Iroqouis did make the 5A playoff field), and both 5-5 6A teams (0-10 Butler earned a spot). In other classes where 0-10 teams amde the playoffs, you cannot effectively justify temas being too terribly offended when noone else even had a .500 winning percentage. Just some food for thought. Hearsay
Central Hardin was not great, but was not a bad football team. I think they would have beaten Butler and a handful of others schools who got in.

strongopenyon
I think there were a total of 18 teams who didn't make the playoffs in Kentucky. If you don't make the playoffs in this state, you are not a good team, period.

bluegrassfootball
I think Apollo is better than their record shows. They are not a bad team.
strongopenyon
I think Apollo is better than their record shows. They are not a bad team. They only won three games and were one of eighteen teams in the entire state of Kentucky who did not make the playoffs. They are not a good football team. HDE
It's not Pineville in Class A. Harlan beat Pineville 20-0 in Pineville.
bluegrassfootball
Yea they had plenty of Qb controversey. If I am correct starting 3-4 different Qb's. They also had some injury problems. Trust me they were not that bad of a team.
AverageJoesGym
There is not even a DECENT team that missed the playoffs. All of the teams sitting out richly deserved it. If you cannot make the playoffs with that kind of odds where did you hope to finish?

Comments? No, Southwestern did NOT deserve to make the playoffs. They were a BAD team this year.
westsider
I think Apollo is better than their record shows. They are not a bad team.Maybe, but they also failed to make the playoffs in what is a rather weak 6A district.
giantkiller
You can ask anyone who is in Grant CO. district especially the #2 seed J-town if they would like to play Grant again. Grant beat J-town 41-16 at J-town and was one or two plays away from beating Anderson who happens to be 10-0 on the season. So I would disagree with some people's comments.
