Any truth to a fight/argument in the stands tonight with CovCath family v. CovCath families that resulted in a stoppage in play?

That's a great way to open your season if true.  Hope that's not the case.

Heard it was two of the Ohio families going at it. Which jurisdiction covers this one?

Both individuals were sitting on the Covington Catholic side of the stands. Folks actually on hand at the game (including police) confirmed that the verbal altercation was between a spectator at the game that was not with any Cov Cath family/player/student, and Evan Ipsaro's dad. There are false rumors that the first individual was Mekhi Wilson's father; again, those rumors are false and the individual is not from any "CovCath family."

Long story short, the first guy was sitting in the Cov Cath section and within earshot of Ipsaro's dad, and was repeatedly yelling inappropriate things from the stands to Evan, who wasn't having the greatest of games offensively. After several different people in the stands (including Mr. Ipsaro) had asked him to pipe down, the first individual kept it up, and according to some witnesses "stepped up" the comments aimed at Evan. It was an escalation from there.

And the Ipsaros, for the record, are Edgewood residents - the one in Kentucky, not the one in Ohio.

I realize that in the moment at the game, all of the details weren't exactly clear as to the identities of those involved in the verbal altercation at the game. But as a reminder to those who may need a refresher, Rule #6 from our Terms of Service states, "6. No putting incorrect or false information on the site."

Verifying incorrect rumors as being truth is, in fact, putting incorrect and false information on the site.

If you, as an adult, feel the need to attend a high school game and make inappropriate comments about the kids involved then you need to not attend games and use your newly acquired free time to evaluate your life.

I agree and I think this thread has reached an ending point.
