Perhaps Elder should stipulate that Highlands Varsity bring their "A" game this year so it isn't a thumping again like last year and not a "waste" of their time. I get that it is disappointing that you didn't get their A team, but come on, they are just trying to give kids an opportunity to play and they are obviously going to save their talent when they play a conference foe the next day.

I agree. Elder better learn how to maintain coverage on the back end on broken plays. Cov Cath's biggest offensive plays were on broken plays and that's not going to fly for the Panthers in GCL play.

I totally get it. CCH definitely has some really nice players. Just men against boys.

If this game doesn’t get moved it’s ridiculous. This game will bring 30,000 fans. To play it at Mason with a capacity of 7,000 is just plain dumb.

That could be. Anderson is very good but with their weaker schedule it is hard to say with 100% conviction.

No I don’t think they would say that. Elder has beat Highlads, Cov Cath, and St X. 3 of the better programs in KY. So yes they can say they are better than KY football.

I came away unimpressed with Cathedral for all the hype they were getting. Offense was extremely vanilla but maybe that is because the QB was hurt? They also missed 2 FGs. However, I did like how the Cov Cath offense looked. I felt like they moved the ball very well and look good for the post season.

I will give you that they are a bigger school but twice the size is incorrect. Cov Cath has about 500 and Elder has 800. Highlands has about a 1,000 so I assume 1/2 boys? This post is an excuse post with people trying to cope with the fact that Ohio just has better football teams. Highlands, Cov Cath, Trinity, and St X all have good teams but just not to the level of Southwest Ohio GCL. I mean doesn’t Louisville St X and Trinity each have about 1,200 students?? Maybe Elder and Moeller should have to combine to play them….lol.

Against KY competition…..yes they will be fine. They just stick to that.

Couldn’t agree more. I think Elder is the better team but they don’t blow teams out very often due to their ball control/methodical style.

Agreed. Definitely not dominated but the comments in this message board talk about how far superior their talent is with other excuses. If that’s the case, then win the games.

Sorry GCL football is just better. I see some blaming rivalry hangover from the St X vs Trinity game last week. St X just played Elder last week….think that’s a big rivalry?

Agree to disagree. I just find the lack of respect for a team like Elder in the polling numbers to be funny. All I read about was how St X had a bye and a whole week to prepare and it was a home game but still lost.

The original game poll had responders saying 62% in favor of St.X. Why? The GCL is so above KY football except for maybe Trinity. It was a good game though, best of luck the rest of the way to St X.
