The Tigers lose the 2nd year in a row by 2 pts to the (5-0) Panthers. St. X had a costly fumble on a punt return at around Elders 12 and Elder marched the field after that taking the lead. Elder's QB is a really good runner and made some great passes. He did have one interception but Elder won turnover battle 2-1. A TD by Marlon Harbin got the Tigers within 2 but couldn't recover the on sides kick. Good luck to the Panthers the rest of the season.

Also St. X had punt blocked so can't have two turnovers plus that and expect to beat good teams.

This game kept me from a point in the pick'em contest as I feared it would!  Figured it'd be decided on the margins and it didn't disappoint.

The personal foul after the play when St X's defense  held on 3 down was troubling. The fumble on the punt was an unfortunate event while  making a great effort. A personal foul at a critical moment is hard to understand. 

 

The original game poll had responders saying 62% in favor of St.X. Why?  The GCL is so above KY football except for maybe Trinity. It was a good game though, best of luck the rest of the way to St X.

I don't know the answer to this but I would look at the Pick 5 contest, that is usually a better indication.

If it's so above then why has Elder only won by 2 pts over St. X the last two years. La Salle is a beatable team. Moeller is definitely above all and they beat Cincy St. X pretty good tonight. 

Elder also beat CovCath in the Pit this year by a 28-20 score. 
 

Which leaves me thinking a CovCath - St. X game would have been entertaining this year.

Agree to disagree. I just find the lack of respect for a team like Elder in the polling numbers to be funny. All I read about was how St X had a bye and a whole week to prepare and it was a home game but still lost.

Was no disrespect of Elder because people didn't pick them to win. Was two point game last year. Now if Elder blew St. X out last year and people didn't pick Elder that would be different. People pick the wrong teams on this board all the time. If Elder won this game big I could see where might think they were disrespected but a 2 pt win is very close.

You’re right. It’s me overthinking this. Upon further reflection, I probably shouldn’t have said “so far above” KY football either. Good luck to both teams going forward.

Elder was ranked 10th in Ohio’s big school division. St X is receiving much positive publicity this season in social media and by the Courier Journal.
