  1. X has beaten 2 struggling teams. The Owensboro loss now appears to be an even worse loss. I don't think X's OLine will hold up in the run or the pass against Elder's Defense. Elder's quarterback is tough to contain. I think Elder by a comfortable score.
  2. I will go with Atherton's in this one without Mack. Atherton gave Manual all they wanted last year and seems solid so far this year.
  3. The RPI is really flawed. Some of this will work itself out but there has to be a better model.
  4. 3 Hungover_in_AndoverStandard MembershipAug 14 For those wondering, Dakari Talbert played only about 4 snaps due to dehydration. 3 of those he got the carry, and ran for 30+ or more yards.
  5. You seemed to feel differently when your guy was out. Seems a bit inconsistent. Or was your post just a public service message?
  6. I don't disagree that Douglas is very good. It's the trying to pretend being down 2 QB's is a joke that's ridiculous. Also X's team hasn't gone to the Moonlight buffet for a pregame meal since Owensboro. X has a real tough stretch coming up and may get rough up. But again it's a long way to December.
  7. But X beat them in a scrimmage. Oh but wait the Douglas people said there tailback only play 4 snaps. Personnel matter and it's long way to December. It says more about Manual's performance than Douglas performance.
  8. Yeah take out Douglas best player and it won't make a hill of beans difference. Geez
  9. Yeah, the loss gets a big asterisk.
  10. So the Douglas loss gets an asterisk.
  11. What's up with Kaden Mack? Did he play against Douglas?
  12. Male played with a lot of effort but that is the least physically talented Male team I have seen in a long time. They do not have the horses they have had in the past.
  13. Does this mean the game is cancelled?
  14. The difference between Owensboro and Bowling Green was the speed and activity of the defensive fronts. Owensboro's got after it. Bowling Green just stood there. The ball is slow to come out on passes from X. If there is pressure bad things happen for X. If Male has speed and is active on the D line and at receiver they have a shot. If not, X rolls.
  15. The failure to blow the 4th down touchdown dead was a really bad call. If you watch the WLKY coverage there was also a block in the back right at the point of a possible tackle on another X score. Watch number 11. The dropped touchdowns were just mistakes that prevented Bowling Green from exploiting X's problem covering deep routes. X's D line getting to the quarterback hides a lot of sin with the coverage. The deep coverage has to get fixed. It was a good win to get but I am concerned X is giving themselves too much credit for beating a team that isn't very good at this point in the season.
  16. To be clear, I don't think the players are panicking. I think they are getting angry. Landis commented that last week was "good'! (See above) The players don't think so. It's not instant gratification, it's why are guys who can play not getting an opportunity when the product on the field is just plain bad. They don't care what somebody did someplace else. They see guys they have played with for 3-4 years who could do better and aren't getting a shot to show it. Landis said in the preseason the QB race was close. So why not try some one else after the first 2 interceptions? The current situation clearly has not been working. Einstein said "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” He was a pretty bright guy.
  17. Its possible many players are frustrated at St X that no changes are being made and no one else is getting a chance to see if they could do better. The offensive lack of performance wasn't new in the Owensboro game. It was obvious against Ballard and Douglas. And when people try to blame it on a supposed lack of talent that generally doesn't make the kids feel better about the situation. X needs to win tonight. If guys aren't getting it done some one else needs a shot. The offense really can't do a lot worse than it has so far.
  18. "You have to have that burning desire'
  19. It's true as to the receiver and 2-3 additional players. No details on the exact why but it's a loss to the team.
  20. Christian Brothers is very good. If Trinity handles them the Chattanooga game will be a national story.
  21. Happy for PRP. The kids there who have stuck this out deserve some success.
  22. X can’t expect the defense to keep them in games with an offense playing like it has been. The offense has to have sustained drives and not turn the ball over for immediate scores. The defense can’t do much about pick sixes. The defense kept them in the game at Owensboro and scored X’s only points. The first offensive has been ineffective in both scrimmages and the first game. That has to change fast or it won’t get better as the season goes on.
  23. Some people don’t know when to shut up and go away..
  24. And scored X’s only points.
  25. It’s definitely time for a change at QB for X.
