Maxwell field was on the Male campus at Brook and Breckinridge. I think some one has built a building on it now. They moved the old cast iron gate to the Male's current campus.

After the Frederick Douglas scrimmage, which was pretty much even, People recognized X had a very good defense and the offense was struggling. The consensus was X was young and X would improve. 10 weeks later, X has a struggling defense and an offense that has shown it can only score on bad teams. This game is the last chance to demonstrate if there has been any improvement or if X has gone backward. I have no confidence Landis will do anything good. The kids are playing to avoid the first losing season in 75 years. I am hoping that motivates the kids to rise up.

It wasn’t just on the “2’s”. X kept running a run blitz and running past the PRP back or not having any one to fill in the middle. It was not a sound defense. X was giving up 10 to 15 yards on running plays. The problem was obvious. X didn't adjust. PRP ran the ball pretty well until the PRP kids were exhausted. It looked like they dressed about 21 kids and several got hurt. There was a pick 6 and a kick off return for a TD but PRP ran for a lot of yards.

So who wants to tell me PRP has similar talent to St X and it’s our great coaching that’s keeping us in the game?

PRP just had a sustained drive right down the field. X keeps blitzing and it’s not working.

But how is X either dominant or not competitive at all? Every game this season except Owensboro has been a running clock or close to it either way.

Serious question. What does it mean when a team blows out every struggling team and gets blown out by every good team it plays?

If last week was an improvement in discipline and penalties I was at a different game. X had multiple (5 or more) personal fouls and offsides penalties. Several personal fouls were offsetting but that’s not an excuse.

I like method 1. Starters don’t get much out of beating the life out of somebody. Get young guys reps as it’s a long season. And don’t get starters hurt in garbage time.

If the AD saw this as the coach’s retaliation for a late hit and a fight after order was restored I think that act alone would justify firing him. I don’t think Coaches should call plays to stoke a tense situation. And if his starter was in up 57 points, geez!

Unclear. The game was called at halftime by the Athletic directors. What I was told is fans of both teams were upset. The AD who canned him was very clear that it was because he violated the school’s fundamental values and mission statement about how to treat other people including opponents. Apparently the other team had given up more than 100 points earlier in the year and was really struggling to field a team.

He had lead them to the 4-A state title in 2024. The opposing team had 16 total players. It was the second onside kick called by the coach in the game. it was obvious they had no ability to compete with his team. The school did the right thing firing him. It’s just classless and sends a horrible message to high school kids.

I think it depends on how much cash is offered. I think these kids have to seriously consider committing before the money gets spent. It’s part of the new crazy.

“Guaranteed” is a strong word.

The significant problem Wallace had was the lack of focus on line play and development. But he had an offense that made sense. The current offense seems to be: 😱

The lack of competitive performance, the lack of any coherent or even identifiable offensive scheme and the constant and repeated personal fouls, the trash talking even when we are getting our butts kicked all with no identifiable improvement cannot be tolerated going forward. It’s embarrassing on multiple levels.

You are assuming we will beat North Hardin and PRP. Let’s not get cocky!

It’s not that X is losing, it’s that we are getting embarrassed every week.
