Leading 57-0 in the 2nd quarter, coach calls for an onside kick. Game does not continue after halftime and the AD fires the coach effective immediately.

He had lead them to the 4-A state title in 2024. The opposing team had 16 total players. It was the second onside kick called by the coach in the game. it was obvious they had no ability to compete with his team.

The school did the right thing firing him. It’s just classless and sends a horrible message to high school kids.

Unclear. The game was called at halftime by the Athletic directors. What I was told is fans of both teams were upset. The AD who canned him was very clear that it was because he violated the school’s fundamental values and mission statement about how to treat other people including opponents. Apparently the other team had given up more than 100 points earlier in the year and was really struggling to field a team.

They won a state title in 2024 which was his 1st year. They were 4-6 in 2025 & 3-3 in 2026 when he was relieved. Apparently, with about 2:00 to go in the 2nd quarter & up 50-0, their QB scrambled & went out of bounds & was shoved to the ground by an opposing player. This caused a bit of a fracas & multiple kids had to be separated. MC then scored on the next play, then went for the onside kick to score again.
