  1. Has Spring Ball started yet? Any updates since workouts have started? I think again this off-season the theme may end up being how do we look up front on both sides of the ball. That is the real question. I know we have a 3 way race for QB, but I love all our options there and we will end up being pretty good at that spot. who will be protecting that QB and who be getting after the opposing teams QB’s for us this year?
  2. As always spot on with the good info and analysis to boot. Nightmarish indeed. Go Colonels!!!
  3. He is a starting Safety. The QB situation is currently unresolved as they have 3 quality guys that could step right in next year with no problem……Harney, Queen, and Gaiser. Harney playing basketball and missing football until the end of March will not hurt His chances. Most likely there is no decision until a couple of weeks before game 1…. even more likely is that we see a healthy dose of both Queen and Harney for the first few weeks. Whoever does get the starting nod, I would highly expect a package or 2 for the other QB. I give the edge/nod to Harney at this point has He has a full year in the system as backup and His previous starting Varsity experience with His very impressive showing as a Frosh for Beechwood varsity. Gaiser I just see being better getting the ball in space. He will be a matchup nightmare as a WR and would just run by folks as the starting RB….and yes He is beyond talented enough to step into either of those positions and start and excel. 3 great options is a nice problem to have.
  4. Thanks for the knowledge. More Senior leadership and I agree I think He is ready to really breakout.
  5. I would agree here. It boils down to we are a year away from what should be a 3-5 year run that should yield some Titles. We are going to be anchored by a stout Jr. & Sophomore class that will need a year to season and under them is a Freshmen class that lost 1 game by a touchdown in 8th Grade GCYL dominating pretty much every other team. Kruer especially, Link, and Bessler will be 3 Sr.’s who will not only provide tried & true leadership, but can hang with almost any player in the area….Kruer will be a breakout player who will be a top 5 player by the end of next season. Harney, Pitzer, Sanning, Clukey, Lind, Krallman, Geiser, Queen are all names folks should get very used to hearing for the next 2-3 years. It will just take one more season for the underclassman talent to develop and provide Championship football for a few years. The pipeline is very well fortified.
  6. I am told he is currently in the freshman class and will be a sophomore next season.
  7. Spectacular write up. A ton of Jr’s & Soph’s means the pipeline will be fruitful. There will be a lot of competition for playing time which will help the young guys come on fast. I agree with your possible point that we could see one of the QB’s Gaiser or Harney switch to RB with Gaiser being my first choice. Once again our skill positions will be stacked and Kruer & Bessler make LB a point of strength as well. I believe we are a year away from not just contending, but coming away with a State Title or 2. GO COLONELS!!
  8. Outstanding write up on the future….we are a year away and will be scary in 2025…..plain and simple.
  9. That was a physical game played great by both clubs. Colonels clearly as usual will not back down from anyone as they take right to the defending Ohio D1 State Champs. Anyone know Hoban’s current state rank?
  10. There are about 180-200 in Cov. Cath Youth Football as of last year. And I can tell you that number will be down as a number of kids will be moving to the St. Henry Youth Program. And to someone’s earlier point, I can totally see non-feeder kids that want to play football flocking to St. Henry in droves. And in regard to the hiring of Coach Odom….how can anyone at all not think is absolutely a grand slam of a hire. Wow. St. Henry crushed it on this hire especially for a start-up program. St. Henry making pretty much every right move so far and I believe they will be competitive in 2-3 years and not a more typical 5-7 year timeframe especially with the hiring of Coach Odom. Congrats on this spectacular hiring!!
  11. Hussey was unconscious at one point from 3 land. The Senior played like it as He was all over the floor and clearly runs this team. Harney is special right now. He picks up almost right where Evan left off. I kept thinking that this Kid who is dominant on both ends of the floor and is only a Sophomore, is only 10 days, yes 10 days since playing His last football game….He has no ceiling, especially as He gets older, faster, stronger, and even more confident and it’s not like that is an issue now. McGillis had a tremendous Freshman season and His improvement to this year is astounding. He was a force last night. They had no answer for Him as Defensively He was disruptive on almost every possession and is threat to cause a turnover at any and every moment. His ability to shoot the 3 ball has never been in question, but last night He showed He can penetrate the middle and score the tough contested hoop against a big team playing big and physical. The 3 headed monster that McGillis, Harney, and Gaiser will be as Seniors will be unstoppable. Miller the transfer is a load inside as His ability to work in space and block shot after shot makes the paint a scary place for teams. I know there has been some talk about Gaiser and playing time and He got quality minutes last night and was a defensive beast. By the time He is a Senior He will be locking down every kid in the 9th region. His tenacity and ferociousness on the Defensive side of the ball is special. And He gives the team yet another option to handle the point and dribble drive with His speed and fearlessness. Going to be special. Lastly, Nolan Ruthsatz maybe that 5th starter as He most likely will be the fastest kid on any floor He steps on and He is lockdown. As good as everyone above is Defensively, Nolan is in my opinion moving to another level defensively. I am already looking forward to a rematch with Great Crossing and it will be unreal the level this team will play at in February. They have a lot of youth, but this may just be the best Defensive team we have had and ultimately the most explosive. Saw my first game last night finally and if yuh cannot tell I am beyond impressed. Reloaded and rolling! GO COLONELS!!
  12. This is the most true statement that will come out today. I know Lyon County, Great Crossing, & Lex. Cath. are all beyond legit possibilities to win state, but the 9th will send a dog of a team to shake things up in March at Rupp for sure. Battle Tested for sure. The 9th Region is going to be so much fun the next 2-3 years.
  13. He is on our schedule so allow me to go ahead and confirm that.
  14. Thanks! You think that will change as the Football guys come more online? I honestly cannot wait to see Harney play….
