This may change dramatically in the next 5 weeks. X plays Manual, North Hardin and Madison Central. Trinity will roll through their district including Eastern.

To me the 6A wildcard is Trinity. Imagine finishing first or second in RPI only to find out that means you get Trinity at your place in the third or fourth round. Somehow that is not how we imagine a top seed working out.

Trinity wins out, and Eastern has such a high RPI rating that T will jump Mad. Central. I think for the playoff lineup, Douglass is likely looking at 1. Dunbar, 2. Station, 3. Male/SK, 4. Mad. Central.

Correct.

And the interesting one with Trinity is this week. You assume they win all three district games, and Eastern does have a good RPI, so it will help. But lose to Cincy St. X and could drop a few spots before the district games.

Would be wild if they are not in the top 2-3 this season.

Does anyone know if there's any chance Trinity will play their 3rd and/or 4th round games at home? Those would be the only games I'd be able to make it to this year.

As it stands today, it's dubious that they will. Trinity is going to play the Manual/St. X regular season loser in Round 2 this year. In all likelihood, the other three teams in Round 3 will be the Manual/St. X regular season winner, McCracken County, and South Warren. Right now, Manual and McCracken are at the head of that group, followed by Trinity, then South Warren. Chances are, Trinity would be best served to have a round 3 home game by X beating Manual during the regular season. I don't know that I see that happening at the moment.

Let's say for argument's sake that X does beat Manual. Trinity would be in line to host South Warren in the third round. Then you'd need Frederick Douglass or Madison Central to not advance to round 4, as both are ahead of Trinity, and I think likely to stay there. I'm not sure I see that happening. And of course, if Manual were to beat X, then Trinity would maybe need two of three of that Frederick Douglass/Madison Central/Manual group not to advance to the state semis.

I don't think it looks promising.
