Dodgers Trade for Chris Heisey

Featured Replies

According to Jerry Crasnick the Dodgers have traded for Chris Heisey. Not sure what the deal involves.

Reds will get minor league P Matt Magill

Deal is for Matt Magill. 25 year old SP. Threw 27 innings in 2013. 6.51 era.

Magill, Magoo, whatever.

He was gone either way. They got someone to fill a minor league roster spot I guess.

Heisey is a bench player. I know very little about McGill but am cool with the trade. Getting anything in exchange for Heisey is a bargain, in my opinion. Getting a pitcher at a relatively high level is even better.

Dodgers fan in the comment section...

Nothing wrong with going after low risk high reward players.

Los Angeles Dodgers acquire Chris Heisey in trade with Cincinnati Reds - ESPN Los Angeles

So cute, they will learn soon enough. :lol2:

Heisey might actually be solid in LA. Solid defensively, decent bat off the bench. Won't be asked to do too much.

The problem is he was a borderline every day player in Cincy because there weren't many other options. And, as we all know, EDH sucks.

I guess my problem is I don't see the point. You save a million or two.... So what?

Happy. Heisey was just one of those guys that fans around here gave way too much credit to. He is simply not that good. Role player at best.

My wife isn't a happy camper. He is the one guy she wanted to meet at Redsfest this weekend.

So, is it me or are the Reds running out of left fielders? Something has to be in the works
