Tigerpride94 Posted March 29, 2024 Posted March 29, 2024 Like always, the 7th Region will be tough again as the top teams all return some big-time players. One thing that can change things is transfers which at this point is unpredictable. Saint Xavier (30-4) returns all five starters with Chance Dillingham 17.0 ppg, Jeremiah Jackson 14.8, Will Hanke 11.5, Jermaine Cameron 8.6, and Graham Krezmien 8.1. They also return all their key reserves and look to be one of the best teams in the state. Trinity (27-8) returns three of their top 5 scorers and will certainly be capable of winning the region again with Jayden Johnson 11.5 ppg., Julius Edmonds 11.5, and Josiah Lawson 5.0. They also return some key reserves. Male (22-11) returns maybe the best shooter in the region with Cole Edelen 21.4 ppg., along with Jayson Gasaway 9.9, and Keashawn Jordan 6.5. With a player like Cole Edelen they will be a contender in the region. Manual (28-5) returns their top two scores with Malachi Coleman 15.9 ppg and Justice Decker 13.8. This duo is one can build around and will have a formidable team and can't be counted out. Ballard (14-16) was young and improved throughout the season and return four of the top five scorers with Sam Frazier 18.4 ppg, Nate Richardson 11.6, Cash Whitehead 10.6, and Nick Hayden 7.9. They also return Cayon Gaines 7.0. These Bruins should resemble the Bruin teams of old more than they did this year. 1
Tigerpride94 Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Not sure if he will have varsity impact next year being a freshman but if good as advertised I would say may get some minutes. 1
Falcon Pride Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 He’s legit. Saw him play this year at Shawnee. 1
Tigerpride94 Posted August 27, 2024 Author Posted August 27, 2024 Two top players not only in same region but same district.
St. Matthews Boy Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Fall workouts are underway and first preseason practice is less than a month away. How do we see the seventh region coming into the year? For me right now I think Trinity and St. X are above the rest but it will be a tough fight to get through the region like always. 1. Trinity - Reigning champs get the No. 1 spot. Return three of their top five scorers with Jayden Johnson leading the charge alongside Julius Edmonds. 2. St. Xavier - All five starters are back from a team that looked title ready until they met Seneca. The Tigers have maybe the best freshman in the state in Josh Lindsay who put up numbers as an eighth grader at Shawnee last year. 3. Male - Cole Edelen leads the Bulldogs as one of the best shooters in the region and city as a whole. Solid core and some younger guys back that should progress nicely, as well. 4. Manual - Malachi Coleman and Justice Decker are one of the best duos in the region. Should be the center piece for another strong Crimson squad. 5. Ballard - The Bruins were very young last season and showed really good signs of growth late in the year. Never count out Ballard and I don't expect multiple "down" years from them. 6. Seneca - The Redhawks have had some really good seasons recently, including last year's region runner-up. Can't replace Quel'Ron House but Prestyn Wheatley was big time as an eight grader last year. Darian Shy who got time as a frosh for Ballard comes in. 1 1
