Bluto
I could see this as a possibility. Why The US Government Hasn't Released Photos Of UBL's Corpse | SOFREP This could give new meaning to the story of when Obama met in secret with Seal Team Six after the raid. The president asked which seal shot him, and they answered "in essence, we all did."
Bluto
P.S. I'm not upset by this at all.
spindoc
This author would cringe at WWI,WWII methods. And that's why he carries a laptop, not a weapon. Count my in the number that would have emptied my magazine.
LOOGY
Didn't know you had to kill someone respectfully. Kind of an oxymoron. I don't care one but we lit up Bin Laden, he deserved it.

Your post reminded me of this: "I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to." jbwill2
I don't agree with his point, but if you look at his bio he is a veteran and former member of special forces.
Bluto
"these attitudes and behaviors do not come out of nowhere. Endless back-to-back combat deployments, PTSD, broken families, and war itself all plays into it." I could easily see these things affecting people. stickymitts
Maybe it's just me but I'd rather he had 1,000 extra bullets than see his pics. I would have emptied all magazines then hit him with a lamp.
woodsrider
1. I don't care if they release photos, honestly haven't thought about it since it happened. 2. Don't care how many times they shot him. Deads dead, what does it matter.

spindoc
I sure did. Changes my perspective somewhat. Still disagree wholeheartedly with his assertion.
spindoc
Sounds like the author made a nice little ditty in association with his political science aspirations and color me skeptical about his motive.
woodsrider
My biggest question in all of this is why is this guy spending $50,000 a year to get a poli sci degree?
Clyde
Do we as US citizens have a problem with HOW the enemy kills our soldiers? Or do we simply say "well, he/she's dead anyway - doesn't matter what they do the corpse?" Would we be upset beyond our normal level if the enemy released pictures of a soldier who had been shot dead, burned, and hung in effigy?
lawildcat
I am of the opinion that unless it is being shown to bear witness to any atrocities occurring, a dead body does not need to be displayed.
