gchs_uk9 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Garrard County begins their third season under head coach Spencer Crutchfield. Golden Lions have several nice pieces returning, but like most everyone else, will also have to replace some graduating seniors. Construction on the new stadium at the high school is well underway and all home games should be played there this season, the first not at Dyehouse Stadium since 1964. 2 1
gchs_uk9 Posted April 25, 2024 Author Posted April 25, 2024 Below are a few pictures from the school's Facebook page posted today. Home side bleachers are expected to hold 2,500 people. I believe there are supposed to be visiting side bleachers that hold 500 between the two stone walls in the picture, but they haven't been installed at this time. 6
LethalPG Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Good luck to Coach Crutchfield and the Lions. I see several winnable games on the schedule. 1
JagNation Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Will this new stadium have a turf field or grass? Dyehouse's grass field is amazing in my opinion. Not too many good grass fields around anymore. 1

burreaux Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 I heard that thunder and lightning backfield might be thunder-less and lightning-less next year. If so, that would be a huge loss for Garrard.

gchs_uk9 Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 Work on the turf field began this week. Here are two pictures taken from a helicopter that were posted on the football team’s Facebook page today. 5

gchs_uk9 Posted August 30, 2024 Author Posted August 30, 2024 Stadium opens tomorrow night with a bowl doubleheader: Garrard vs. Middlesboro at 6pm, Corbin vs. North Hardin to follow. This picture was taken during an early morning practice this week. 6
RimRacker Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Field looks awesome. Garrard is going to have to find someone who can toss the pigskin. The running game is good but they have to be able to throw some to keep defenses honest. Good luck to the Golden Lions.
