HammerTime
Does anyone know the proper way to pronounce Moock Road? (a road in Campbell Co.) I have always said Moock as in clock. I have heard others say Moock as in muck. I say Mock and so do the majority of people I know.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
of local interest for me... Walmarks instead of Walmart Summerset instead of Somerset Cumberland Lake instead of Lake Cumberland Babtissed instead of Baptist (btw I'm Methodist) Obama or Bush instead of President Obama or President Bush When we lived in Ohio I quickly learned that Newark Ohio is correctly pronounced Nerk Ahia or they knew you were an outsider. My mom is terrible about adding/subtracting s's at will. Her two worst are Walmarts and Krogers. I had two teachers in high school - Mr. Haders and Mr. Durkee - who she always called Mr. Hader and Mr. Durkees.

Preachit
Ha! Gotta love when you can correct someone who attempted to correct you. I believe "Got To" or "I Have" or "Hafta" is more correct.

Jim Schue
Years ago, I used to work at the Best Buy on Houston Road in Florence when it first opened. I was across the street at a restaurant having lunch and overheard an older fellow and his son discussing some things. The older man said, "We need to stop over there at Mee-Jay's and get some milk before heading back." Meijer was what he was talking about.
