Moock like clock here.

 

Everyone I know originally from Wilder, Southgate, or Ft. Thomas calls it "Mock Road". Everyone else, on the other hand, gives a slightly uncomfortable "Mook Road??" when they mention it.

Does anyone know the proper way to pronounce Moock Road? (a road in Campbell Co.)

I have always said Moock as in clock. I have heard others say Moock as in muck.

Everyone in our family uses the "muck" pronunciation.

I can't stand "like" being used every third word. Drives me nuts. My niece, in medical school, absolutely wears me out with it. So, everytime we would be talking and she started in with "like", I would stop her and make her repeat the sentence without all the likes...drove her as crazy as she was driving me crazy...finally broke my kids of the habit.

I grew up in Newport and currently live in Wilder. It's always been "Mock" road for me...though that's just because that's what I heard growing up. Once I grew older and I realized it wasn't spelled that way, I started questioning the correctness of my pronunciation. Even still...I continue to say "Mock" road.

I have lived in Northern Kentucky multiple decades and have always pronounced it Mock. Everyone I know pronounces it Mock. I lived on Moock Road and everyone I knew pronounced it Mock. I am not sure if there is an officially correct way to pronounce the word.

Now this isn't a mispronunciation, as such, but the use of pop for soft drink has always driven me crazy. I know a lot of people do it, but I am not sure why.
