I think it is a French pronunciation: sher-bay I still say sherbert though. So bollard should be pronounced like the school in Louisville(ballard)? Never knew that. We've said it wrong here at work for as long as I can remember. I believe he was saying that people pronounce it ballard, which is incorrect. Bollard is correct. We've said it wrong here at work for as long as I can remember. I should have been clearer...I listed the incorrect pronunciations that drive me crazy.
