When Coach Jones played at ball in high school and college, he was a very good reciever. I'm ceratin he would love to throw the ball but unfortunately his personel has lent itself much more to the run. Regardless of what Estill started the year in, they were going to struggle with their youth. When they changed to the Double wing, it somewhat energized them as well as fitting their personnel. People should realize the number of sophs Estill starts. Look for a good returning team next season.

You are correct. I remember that well Estill 1203. It seems that Russell feels like they have moved to a level well beyond those in that football district. From what I see, Estill football has a bright future.

From all the reports I read on BGP regarding Russell, it appears they need to apply for 6 A ball next year for some competition. I guess the Estills of the world simply don't measure up.

Who is Trimble's coach? Where did he come from? What program?

I curious what kind of a calculator you used? Estill has 1 bad season in the last 6. 139 losses? I agree with up and down. Good coaches in ALL the major sports. Funny thing is , most people considered estill to be football first school for 25 years and still do.

Thats funny, I thought Estill Co was never in the 10th region.I guess it just seemed that way given the drive to get to the regioanl tourney and the fact no one above Harrison Co would play them

Don't they play in basketball? DId they not fight there? It seems odd that they would never play

Not sure what the entire results were but I know Estill won. One estill player, Tyler Noland shot a 65 and another one, Aaron Morrison shot 66.

If you check out the map you may be suprised to see how far Estill is removed from the 10th region. They border the 10th region along one 6 mile stretch. They traveled through Powell to get to EVERY 10th region school. If you have been to Estill County , you would see it is MOST certainly a Mountain School. It appears that Estill is once again "without a home" . When in the 10th region, it was like they didn't exist. Kids have suffered because of it.

Estill starts 2 seniors but have a good young bench. They also have their primary pitcher back who did not give up a run in the post season. Estill's combined post season scoring was 54 -0. Looks like the lady engineers are going to be pretty good for a awhile.

It would seem that Breathitt is actually the most centrally located when considering the 56th as well. Perry Central, though the best gym I have seen in the region, is really a stretch for the 56th district.

estill has won 12 of their last 15 and now start 8 underclassmen. Looks like the Engineers may have a bright future

I thought jackson Co was suppose to be 2A

Isn't the point in question at Owsley Co regarding the timing of the superintendent's decision? It would seem that the baseball coach would have been given a directive not to schedule games during that week. If he had been given directive early, there would have been no games scheduled to cancel.

I believe the dates on these games are wrong. Or the Khsaa website is wrong one.

It seems that Morgan has had a long run of talent. Is this cycle going to continue? This would be 5 or so years in a row. Where are all the players coming from? Has their AAu ball been that good at younger ages?

I would think estill in the 14th

Drew Freeman, Estill County. 6'3" 205 lb freshman lefty. Divison 1 prospect with out exageration. Danny Wood may be one of thebest baseball coaches in the state. Estill has been a solid program for years.

I hope they don't start working in a couple of weeks. It is illegal

how long has Henry hosted it?

MAdsion Central had great run but their district basically takes a lot of the heat. They have won it how many straight years?

Mason County: Best coaching job in the state: Host the region every year and host the district at worst every other year with 3 other teams being all A. A good size school with a great following and a constant stream of athletes and good feeder programs in a region that is known for it's professionalism. Wow Having witnessed now the 10th and 14th region tournaments, I'm not sure the logic about crowd size in the 10th vs the 14th holds true. Furthermore, Knott Central holds as many fans as Mason co. Irregardless, I'm not a Die Hard supporter of GRC, but I feel sorry for a team that is basically dead even but yet plays on the other team's home floor. The oppurtunity to win a region may only come once in a quarter century for some schools.

From a former 10th region member: Mason County is a great team and has a great program that we pull for when they play any team but our own. Their facility is fantastic and they do a good job of hosting the tournament. BUT ,there is no way anyone can possibly deny the reality that this is a tremendous advantage and I feel like last night was a perfect example. PLAYING AT HOME GIVES YOU AN EDGE! Does no one think that playing at home is worth 3 points? Is this fair to GRC. They may never get another oppurtunity to get this far for years even though they have their best 2 player back. This gym has hosted some of the best regional tournaments in history and has a certain "mystique" that somehow goes with it, but it is really just not fair to the other teams in the region. Apparently, there will be some other options in the near future.

Has elliot ever made the big dance?
