JeterFan04 Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Its a pretty big week in the 56th this week. Alot of teams are finally going to get to feel each other out a little bit and see where everyone stands a little better. Lets hear some predictions: Lee vs. Owsley April 11th @Lee Owsley vs. Powell April 10th @Owsley Powell vs. Estill April 12th @ Powell Lee by 8 Powell by 5 Powell by 2
BadCat Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I think you have the winners, but Owsley will be a little tougher in the two games Smith and Neeley pitch. Without knowing which those are, I am reluctant to pick spread.

Without knowing which those are, I am reluctant to pick spread. Actually Bowling is one of the Owls top 2 pitchers. But it takes a little away from them when he's on the mound because he is the starting catcher, and a very good one at that. The backup catcher is getting better, but he doesn't have the experience that Bowling has. Owsley is at their best when Smith is on the mound and Bowling is catching.
BadCat Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 I knew Bowling was the right guy professor. God knows sixtyfeetsix has drilled it into me enough! Still thinking about basketball. By the way RedsFan, I do believe Lee will beat Owsley, but I don't think it will be by 10+, as I am sure one of the top two will pitch. I think Owsley is better than most people know.
sixtyfeetsix Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Lee by 10+ Powell by 6 Powell by 1 NO WAY. I hope you are there to watch

You are smarter than the average "cat". I can assure you that Lee will not score on Owsley like they did in the ALL A. They will have to do it against one of our best pitcher's. Not our 4 starter. It will be a better game than people think. Thanks for the vote of confidence though. I will see you there on Tuesday.

Serious illness in wife's family. May not be able to make it.
einstein Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I believe the dates on these games are wrong. Or the Khsaa website is wrong one.
RedsFan08 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 How much did powell end up winnin by and who pitchd for owsley
The Professor Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 How much did powell end up winnin by and who pitchd for owsley Powell won 12-4. Owsley's starting pitcher had to leave the game in the 2nd inning due to an injured arm. Hopefully he'll be okay because he's also one of their best hitters, and a great catcher. The 56th is just so darn tough. Owsley had scored 76 runs through their first 5 games against Breathitt, Hazard, Cordia, Jenkins, and Menifee.... and were 5-1 going into today's game. Now they are 5-2, and their two losses are to two district opponents, Lee 14-0, and Powell 12-4. It doesn't get any easier with Estill in the district now.
KIDS FAN Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I think it could get ugly for the Owls tonight. Lee has everyone on their staff available to pitch. they haven't played since last Tuesday. Besides robert Smith who will be available to pitch for the Owls?

Besides robert Smith who will be available to pitch for the Owls? Robert Smith is about it. Jason Bowling pitched last night against Powell and was moved to 1st base in the 2nd because his pitching arm was sore. Neeley pitched the rest of the game. I suppose Trey Congleton is the remaining backup, and he had a rocky outing the last time the Owls and Bobcats played. He has settled down since then and thrown some good games, but against Lee you must be better than a good game. Maybe he and Smith can get it done tonight. It would sure help with the seeding......we need to stay away from a first round tourney game with Lee.
