Seriously, sounds like if pelfrey has a bad day powell is lost.

Now a days you see more and more Professional Athletes throwing things i.e. Delmon Young, or players "pimping" home runs to show up pitchers or players getting in fights and things like that and kids thing that stuff is cool.

Your missing the point the all star team is just not about Powell County's team. Yes he might have the best stats on a team that didnt make it out of there district, who cares he has next year.

First off, you shouldnt down the guys who made the team, the players who made it are deserving im sure. I have saw Pelfrey play and personally i just dont think that he has all the tools to be as good as he is hyped up to be. He can hit for average and has no power and cant throw anyone out, cant really compare to other catchers from good regions who are great. Maybe next year.

Not taking anything away from Dean or Letcher but im not sure Letcher would have made it out of the 56th if they were in Powell's position either with a tough Estill County team....Coach Varney had a solid team this year and providing they got past the first round could have easily hung back to back banners in there gym...Powell will always be in contention and i agree so will Letcher if Dean stays...they have too many people and too much talent walking through that big school not too....Congratulations Coach Dean im glad that you finally got it done

On a well organized senior night from Powell Co. The Pirates had well played performances from all of thier seniors Steven Spangler pitched a 4 inning no hitter along with 10 strikeouts. And Chase Southwood came in too close the door on them too complete the no hitter. The Pirates will be in action against Estill tommorow at Estill best of luck to both teams cause they will be seeing each other in the 1st round district tournament 2 weeks from tommorow.

Very good win for the pirates they are on a 6 game winning streak and looking very tough to beat right now with thier lineup looking strong and finally back to normal with due to injuries and also finding the right lineup. But id say they found their lineup to stay the same for a while after this big win good job Pirates.

I think that it will be a very close one just depends on how the pitching is doing for both sides to really choose this one.

I know that Riverside is the worst team in the region. But how do you get a score like this Lee is about middle of the pack of the 14th but still how do you get a score like that it is a little bit bush league of Lee to run up a score like that in the worst team in the region.

Pat Dad new coaches have nothing to do with anything no offence cause i know that you are a coach. Lets take for instance Powell County new coach Chris Varney. Powell wins 1st region in 29 years i belive and 4th straight 56th district title. If you got the talent you will win jmo.

all that i know is Powell Co. is the hottest team going into the tournament and they are going to be hard to beat.

yes i dont see how you can put dunbar number 1 and catholic 2 in my eyes catholic best in state. But if you ever see Revere in a baseball game he is a great athlete but also a real gentlemen when you talk to him.

i remember a field that i had seen but is no longer used and that is wolfe co. old field the worst field i have ever played on but heard they got a better one coming this season.

Your right, I just respect the way that Freeman approaches the plate he does not get himself out and he is very disipline at the plate.

The reason i put Freeman on this list so high is because the kid can change a game with one swing of the bat i think it may have happend to powell co. last year but im not sure with a last inning home run to tie the game up. I see Freeman bringing his average up this year his power numbers up this year and a recon with in the 14th region right behind Brewer.

Here at Powell Co. I have seen alot of good things from the kids that look very dedicated in trying to find a way back to the 14th region championship and winning it. But time can only tell.
