  1. What kind of program does Ludlow have? I noticed they only played 16 games last year, which seems very low to me.
  2. I would assume too that the umpire could rule that the runner is not close enough to second base to say the pitcher is "making a play" on a runner.
  3. Runners are supposed to steal on first movement by a right handed pitcher. It's taught that way at every level of the game. If a runner waits until they are for sure the pitcher is going home, they will be gunned out 90% of the time.
  4. So lets say, we have a runner on first................right handed pitcher. As the pitcher lifts his leg, runner breaks to steal second.............players in the dugout yell "runner".............pitcher hears this, wheels his leg around, and does a normal throw to second as he would if it was a pickoff move, without balking...............only in this situation its to get the runner stealing . are you saying this would be a legal play? I just don't see how it could be.
  5. my bad I misread it.............but I still think these moves are against the rules.
  6. Then the runner scores from third before they get the tag on the runner coming from second...........not a good move to teach your pitcher, imo........just play the game
  7. Here is another twist to this that makes me believe the pitcher has to step off the rubber before throwing to the unoccupied base; Lets say the same thing happens, but this time the runner is on third base and is stealing home. If the pitcher does not step off the rubber, then to me the batter can swing, because officially it would be a pitch. If he steps off, then the batter must move out of the way because it would not be a pitch.
  8. This has to be it because I watched him throw a few times this year and he is first or second round talent.
  9. haha..........very true........you probably could take your pick any given year
  10. Catholic is playing great right now...........they definitely could win state.......but the 11th region is stacked...........it should be fun
  11. I wouldn't boast too much when you might have to play Dunbar again on their home field. It will be a different atmosphere
  12. Ross gave up 10 hits, 5 earned runs, and only had 3 strikeouts Maronde gave up 5 hits, 2 earned runs, with 11 K's Maronde definitely got the better of this one...............but Lexington Catholic hit the ball well.
  13. I have seen both pitch multiple times.........they are both major league players..........but if I had a choice of anyone in the state to win one game for me.............it would be Maronde..........I will take Catholic 1-0
