Pat Man Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Knott's defense set the tone for this game setting up 2 scores in the first 2 minutes of the game.
Pat Dad Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Good win for KCC. 2-0 to start out the season. :thumb:
Pat Man Posted August 26, 2006 Author Posted August 26, 2006 Bobby had 96 yards rushing...Knott did not run very plays on offense...Bobby had over 200 all-purpose yards.. Knott's defense forced several turnovers that led to short scoring drives...recovered the opening kickoff at Magoffin's 15 yard line.3 plays to score...next series on 2nd play Magoffins fumbles Owens returns it 40 yards to 1 yard line..1 play to score after Magoffin punt Owens scores from 40 on 1st play from scrimmage thats the kinda night it was. Officials called a good game ,but have never seen a block in the back called on defense,,any Ref that can explain it? Good win for Knott ..Hats off to Coach McCoy... he has the community excited about football in Magoffin Co. :ylsuper:
JC Alumni 76 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Looked like a long night for the Hornets but times will get better in Magoffin Co. Its just going to have to take some time and dedication from all that are around the program. Congrats to KCC on the win and good luck to Magoffin on the rest of your season.
napster Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Ouch! I'm hopeful that Magoffin County is FINALLY doing the necessary work to build a successful football program. They have a new Superintendent and a new Principal. It's a new era for Magoffin County. I don't know the Superintendent very well, but I do know the new Principal. I believe he intends to make EVERY Hornet program successful: Boys and Girls sports, Academics, Dance Team, Cheerleading, etc. I saw him at a baseball game last season taking pictures of the players! I've NEVER seen that before in Magoffin County! But back to football. It takes a long time and a tremendous amount of work to build a solid football program. It looks like the new administration at Magoffin County is taking the job seriously. The very first step is to hire a good football coach. I think they've done that with Coach McCoy. On top of his football history, he seems like a genuinely good guy. I've heard nothing but good things about him from people all over Eastern Kentucky. Everything I've seen from him supports that reputation. And he seems to understand that an entire program needs to be built at Magoffin County. I hope the new administration follows through with the rest of the necessary work (weight room facilities, grade school program, development of community support, etc.). I believe they will. Go Hornets!!
