East Carter 39 Estill County 12

Featured Replies

Final from Irvine. Estill County looked good in the first quarter, but it was all East Carter from then on.

Nice win for the young Raiders. Several Freshman were given the chance to fill some spots early in the game due to disciplinary vacancies and they did a fine job. Hats off to the Engineers, they played tough both off/defensively. Estill fans are top notch, good luck guys the rest of the season.

Estill County is 0-4 and they've been outscored by opponents 189-54. They've played Letcher Central, Clay County, Bellevue, and East Carter. How good are they? That's up to you.

Having gone 1 and 19 over 2 seasons not so long ago I fail to see the humor illustrated previously. However I do admire and respect the young men playing for Estill County despite their losses.

I do also, those guys who play for Estill are there because they love football. This might be their last chance to play organized ball. High school only comes around one time. Make the best of it win or loss. Either way they will have memories that will last a life time.

any stats from the game

Thanks for the respect Rockdoc, you understand that some places don't have the luxury of playing countless athletes every single year and they must do what they can with what they have. I didn't see any Russell fans laughing in 2003. It is not very humorous when kids give everything they have and get beat.

Your right about the Devils in 2003 ... Engineers laid a good old fashion butt whipping on us that night. Ran it down our throats again and again ... Even Gross didn't get free very often that night .. We didn't change our defense either base 5 -2 and it wasn't working against the toe to toe version of the wing t estill ran ..

What happen to the RB you folks had that year ?

How have engineers gone from that to now .. I like Estill - once you get there .. Like the band m the uniforms and the playing field ...

Our RB went to Morehead for a year and got redshirted, then just quit for some reason. He's not doing anything with football now. We quit the double wing because most people figured out how to defend it. I don't know the reason for running this new offense, but I hope the kids can get it down. They seemed to do okay with it, but they just get the air let out of them easily.

Its easy for kids to do that once they have been beaten several times. Its very tough to keep confidence up like that. You just have to encourage them to play hard no matter what.

It all starts with our jfl program most of the kids stick with football all the way through high school and by the time they get to high school they know the wing-t pretty well.:thumb:
