Make is the best team in the state by far, and certainly one of the best in the country. Tonight is just a stamp on this.

Another Fairview Investgation?
Braveheart replied to oldrambler's topic in KY Football (High School)
Sounds pretty serious to me. I realize that OEA doesn't have the bite it had years ago, but this is a real hot-bed topic right now, and I wouldn't be surprised if KDE and the KHSAA doesn't open an investigation. -

What's going on Bourbon County...?

I'm sure it was a political dismissal, but its tough to prove that the true motivation was political. Its also difficult to prove people said things or violated his civil rights, not impossible, but difficult. If Johnny is non-tenured as a teacher, they don't need a reason to non-renew his contract, as they are on a year-to-year basis. Sounds like a very bad situation, I've been involved with places like that, they aren't a lot of fun to work in. I wish him the best of luck. -
Trinity has the finest team ever to come out of the State of Kentucky. I would also argue they are one of the 5 best in the Nation this year.

Shelby Valley 66 Knott County Central 0

Is Shelby Valley that good, or is Knott Co. that weak? -
Putnam does have a lot of character! Its a beautiful old stadium, a throwback to a different time!

Hazard @ Belfry, August 13, Scrimmage
Braveheart replied to Watusi's topic in KY Football (High School)
I have taken notice of Belfry Middle's talent the last 2-3 years and they have had some great talent. I expect Belfry to be right there by the end of the year. -
I will be the first to say that I think Coach Rains got a really crappy deal out of all of this. I'm aware of the "morals" clause and I am also aware of how this all went down. I think it stinks and I think its unfair, but with that being said, it is what it is. Coach Rains will coach again, and all of these little cowards on here making your little snide remarks regarding what happened can go crawl back into your little hole, because its quite obvious that you lack the guts and the testicular fortitude to go say those things to the man's face.

If any did, I'm not aware of it. they had a couple of nice backs, but not quite fast enough for college ball. Pikeville College might have signed a couple of them, I'm really not sure.

Valley lost a lot of players from last year's squad, probably a bit of a rebuilding year for them.

Shelby Valley 2010/2011
Braveheart replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
No question the talent level will drop off for a little while, but they have excellent feeder programs and some excellent players coming up, so even though they might struggle for a year or two, they will be back. -
Problem is, they seem to always have a new coach and a different philosophy. I think they need to have a new administrative philosophy. Coach Thomas was very successful in Tennessee at Springfield H.S. winning a State championship, so I don't think coaching was the problem. Until schools like this decide to have a winning program and demand change from an administrative level, its unlikely to change.

Major DI Scholarships - Hard to Get
Braveheart replied to sportsmaniac's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I want to point out that Justice also got a scholarship offer from UK as well. He's a fine player and I wish him the very best at the next level! -
My old friend Coach Davis is doing a great job making that team very competitive and he will continue to do so.

Shelby Valley 73 Louisville Ballard 61

Congrats to Shelby Valley!! This is for all the basketball "experts" who said Ballard would win by as much as they wanted to! LOL -
Ballard/Shelby Valley predictions
Braveheart replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The 2 teams have one common opponent, Jeffersontown, Ballard beat them by 2 and Valley beat them by like 17. I know you can't compare scores, but this tells me that Valley can play with them. People who think that Ballard will come out and have their way with Valley are crazy. -
Ballard/Shelby Valley predictions

Ballard is very good, no doubt, but don't count Shelby Valley out, they CAN win, they will just have to play very well and not make a lot of mistakes. -
