I normally put my thoughts in on the 16th (where I live now) and the 15th (where I played), but I have read all season long that JBS plays a weak schedule and will fail miserably during tournament time. I must say that a 16 point win over Knott Central should shut that talk down. I remember when I attended Alice Lloyd and Clark and Clint Stepp were just kids. Its weird to see them in high school now. I've never seen a Stepp that couldn't play basketball.

JBS outplayed KCC tonight. They had Stepp in foul trouble and the rest stepped up their game. No pun intended.

 

I'll say this before someone comes on here and lays blame elsewhere, the refs done a great job calling this game. The lack of expereince on the floor hurt KCC. Three seniors that can shoot from outside, shoot the ball well in the paint, and had size were not on the court. JBS earned this win.

Congrats to JBS! No doubt JBS is for real! The question is are they real enough to get to Rupp? They could be!

I thought both teams played very hard and it was a shame one had to lose. Knott co could have folded but they fought the whole game. I was very impressed with the good sportmanship showed by both teams.

Both of these teams have a ton of young players and both have a good future ahead of them. I was impressed with the two eighth graders on both teams.(Cox and Stamper).

Congrats to JBS! Huge win at KCC. Score was shocking to me. I figured 5 or less either way.

I agree fully. I honestly expected the same poor sportsmanship that usually is displayed when the public schools and JBS collide there in Knott County, but it didn't happen this time and in my opinion that is the true victory for both of these teams.

 

As for the game, JBS winning did not shock me. As I said in earlier threads, I think JBS is the best team in the District and possibly will win the region. Their schedule concerned me and losing Collins really concerned me. What did shock me was the score. I was at the game. KCC struggled from the start. Missed shots, turn overs and not rebounding was what beat this team. Not to take anything from JBS, I called them as the winner even if KCC showed up with their game on, but the score would have been a different story if KCC had not had an off night.

These players should be able t do great things. Eventhough they are listed in earlier grades in high school, most of the team are redshirts, so its like playing all sophmores, Juniors and Seniors. Dont let the roster fool you, these players been around a while and be around a while longer.

Good win for JBS. It still doesnt prove to me that their weak scheduling paid off...but still.....big win and knocks off the regional host early. Interesting.
