14'th Region District Pairings

Featured Replies

Has most teams gotten in their games to see who will be facing off to go to the region?

I would think Lee has wrapped up the 1 seed in the 56'th, which will lead into a Powell/Estill first round match. Would be a great game to watch, but one of the top 5 teams in the region not getting out.

What is the other districts looking like?

56th Lee vs.Owsley

Powell vs. Estill

Powell vs. Estill will be a really good game. It is too bad one of these teams won't participate in regional tournament.

With four quality teams two won't make from the 56th. Lee and Powell are a notch above the others. Estill could upset Powell at home. Owsley picked the wrong year to have their best team in years. Owsley's best team since 1980 [Flannery and Brandenburg].

estill has won 12 of their last 15 and now start 8 underclassmen. Looks like the Engineers may have a bright future

Here's the 53rd seeding,

Letcher Central

Knott Central

Cordia

JBS

Jenkins

I would say it is about the 5th best team since 1980....maybe...

I am not completely up to date on Owl history but it is the best team I have seen top to bottom in Booneville in about 10 years. They have a couple of pitchers that can beat you if you don't hit it on the ground, solid catching and hit the ball fairly well. Is it progress in their program or just the athletes?

I think it is some really good kids who are willing to work on playing the game of baseball. EARLE is really up on his knowledge of Owlsey baseball. My brother would be happy to know that someone remembered his efforts when he played for the Owls.

1. Leslie

2. Perry

3. Buckhorn ( with ace on the mound)

4. Hazard (very young this year)
